These riots amuse me. They are rioting against the measures that will save their country. A massive bailout to stop their own debt from crushing them and they are not happy with it. Still, at least they are getting up and about; now their government just needs to channel this energy into the workforce so they pay some taxes.

The problem is that they have been living too easy life for too long. They have short working days and huge amount of strange financial aids from the government. They have used to that and now all those privileges are being taken away.
I hope there's no one Greek because they seem to take this very seriously. Don't be mad. It's a great country.

No wonder some presidents get mad at their own people and critisize them.Blxz wrote:These riots amuse me. They are rioting against the measures that will save their country. In some countries, the leaders promise the people "free" things. There is no such thing as "free", especially when dealing with government services. Isn't most of the countries in the world in some form of debt? (Either external debt (EX: US, my country) or internal debt(EX: Japan?)) Either way it makes me hate the game monopoly a lot more.

Norway is the only country I've ever heard of that doesn't have dept. At least that's what I've heard
Might be because they have shit load of oil but they aren't using all the income to having wars with everyone.
Also, I've heard that China has given the most of US governments loans and that China practically owns whole country at the moment.
That true?

China owns US government bonds. basically, this debt means that the money comes from somewhere. Either international banks or from other countries. it is very complicated but that is the basic gist. So China doesn't really own america, but they own a large portion of the debt and get revenue from the interest payments.Santaissick wrote:Norway is the only country I've ever heard of that doesn't have dept. Basically true. We also have the Federal Reserve, which is practically a group of bankers who have the authority to print money and loan it to banks with interest. Eventually, the banks try to pay it back but they can't because they pay it back with money they already owe interest on.
Most US citizens don't agree with many of the wars, its mainly just the companies and the politicians who do whatever the hell they want.

Good old UK, we don't go to war because of oil, or companies, we go to war because our prime ministers are giving blowjobs to presidents. *Cough*Imlookingatyoutonyblair*Cough*

In the... "Second Republic" of Portugal we din't go to war because the parliament was corporativist. In other words, it's members either represented the corporations or it was the CEOs. That's right, we had that around... and the economy boomed like hell. Anyways, if we started a war, it wold be because of corporate greed, except we could kick their a**es anytime we wanted.
