Dust Bandit Non-Aggression
I enjoy taking in bounties. However, if you bring em in dead, you lose 50%. So I heal the bandits, so they don't bleed out. However, this makes all of the enemies like me, which is good and bad in a way. I've taken in so many Dust Bandit Bosses, although their relation with me is -8, they aren't attacking me. How do I fix this, as I hate initiating fights manually?
Is it really that hard to right click and manually attack?
However, there are settings you can change in the construction set to modify the faction bonuses/penalties [although i haven't edited this particular variable, I assume this would work]. Because I'm nice, here's a walkthrough:
1. Load up 'forgotten construction set.exe' [located in your kenshi directory]
2. Create a new mod file [first icon on the top left]. name it something like 'DustBanditsMustHateMe.mod' [or whatever], and save it. [it will be saved in the Kenshi/Data/ folder]
4. Click 'Load' [second icon top left]. You should see 'gamedata.base' up the top with a tick, and 'DustBanditsMustHateMe.mod', and 'vurt.mod'. Put a tick next to your mod, and leave vurt's unchecked.. Then click 'done'. This loads up the stuff for editing.
5. On the left hand panel, highlight 'faction'. [all the factions should show up in the right hand panel]
6. Find Dust bandits, and double click to open up.
7. At the very bottom of the new window, you can see 3 different 'relation positive' modifers. Edit the 'first aid' modifer to 0.
8. click save [3rd icon up top]
9. close the construction set [optional]
10. Go to your kenshi data folder: Kenshi/Data/ and open up the mods.cfg in notepad [it's probably blank at the moment]
11. insert the name of your mod file [which you should see in your data folder now too. in this case 'DustBanditsMustHateMe.mod']
12. save mods.cfg
13. Load up Kenshi & have fun.
If you ever want to turn your mod off, delete it's name from the mods.cfg file.

Alternatively, you can hold right click on a target to get the drop down menu and select "Attack Target" from the list, which forces you into hostility with non-hostile targets.
This is also how you can attack the Imperial Army, Traders, or other people who are other-wise neutral once you're feeling your oats.

The one man merchant caravan.
Are you healing only the dust bandit boss? And then are you healing him only enough to survive? I'm fairly certain you'd have a net loss in rep for beating a bandit squad and only healing one of them.
Alternatively, you could just try not healing any of them for a while, that'd make them hate you again.

All I have to say is that for some people it's not hard, it's "boring",Meynolt wrote:Is it really that hard to right click and manually attack?
