I hope someone can help me!
Getting Construction of Large House, Outpost s-III and IV?
Large house is ingame currently (i can build it and have 2 of them). The other 2 are not.
They are probably out for some of the same reasons as walls being bugged and all. Atleast i remember some horrible bugs with the big round building.
Have you built research bench 2?

I have no country to fight for; my country is the earth; I am a citizen of the world.
Yeah to be able to access the tier 2 research techs (the large house is tier 2), you have to build the second level research bench and use it once. Note the second bench is automatic and doesn't require a person to devote themselves to it for it to do research.
Yeah, I was hoping large house had a second floor, but maybe in the future eh?
I dont know if I like the design of large house as it is anyways. It doesnt seem much bigger than a small house, except taller. Saloons seem much larger, so I have opted for those instead.
I was also thinking of suggesting a "storage" structure, one without walls and easily accessible from all sides. Kind of like a centralized storage management solution. It would be open to the elements and easily lootable, so defense walls would be required, and maybe some sentries around the storage structure to detour thieves.
Would add a cool element, IMO

Well, although a second floor on the large houses WOULD be nice, they are still much bigger than the default house size. What I did was make a large house for each industry, starting with stone production. So the building is literally mostly drop offs for building materials, with a few for just the unrefined stone in case there is a backup in production.
Same thing for each of the industries, I have a large house with tons of looms in it with hemp farms right outside next to Well II's. Now, I did start after the Outpost was removed... so I really want to try playing with those when the next patch comes out
And walls would be nice... but I can wait till its working

I'm curious to how well the walls will be able to keep enemies out and if there will be tiers for this. I'm considering a plan where I have Outer, middle, and inner walls for my headquarters. (Thinking about it, would this break the AI?) I have stocked up on resources to be able to build it provided walls are not extremely expensive in building materials. The surrounding terrain also provides areas where walls would be compounded by impassible (at least for the moment) terrain.
As for the large house having two floors... that could depend upon if there is an interior object that requires that extra height. This could be useful or a headache.

TBH I have no idea.. since I didn't get to play the previous version
However... from what I read there were issues with multiple gates... so doing a multi ring system might be hard to do, but it depends when they bring back the feature.
I THINK there was talk about various heights.. maybe someone can answer that for me.
But when the walls work, no one can walk through them, so other than the gate, there would be little ways for them to get into your town. Think of it how the existing towns work, you really can't glitch through the walls so the NPC's shouldn't be able to (at least once its brought back into the game).
Granted, the reason they were removed was due to the fact that there is 2 sides to a wall. And there is an intended inside and outside of the wall and some people were building the walls backwards, which would cause the AI to be really confused. But from what I can see, this is what the next patch will do is bring back the outposts and the walls, so just start saving up tons and tons of stone for when the time comes
So short story long, one wall should be good enough, but it wouldn't hurt having inside walls to so that in case they made it in, they have a gauntlet to run through to try to get to your inside workings.
Last thing to note is that, do not forget that you can lock the door on a house. Not just close it but LOCK it. And then lock your characters inside and for the most part they will be safe (although I THINK they can break the door down with time). But to pull this off you need to make sure to order your guy in the house to STAY, otherwise he will see the badies show up and then open the locked door to let them in to engage them.
