In the process of having the living hell beaten out of me by bandits many times to level up my combat skills, I encountered an irritating occurrence. My health on a particular limb, usually the stomach, would drop to -5 or something just below 0, rendering me unable to heal over time as usual, and permanently downed. I accelerated the time, waited, and idled for 30 minutes twice, but to no avail. I then imported my squad, and voila, still no breakthrough. I asked after a fix on the forums, and was notified promptly it was indeed a bug, and that I was nailed to a little rock cluster where a bandit got a lucky hit through while I was looting. On one particular occasion, in a different save, (Several have been erased because of this) One character experiencing this issue was placed down in the sand, only to fall through the map infinitely, beyond any state of repair. Therefore, I decided it would be best to notify you immediately to preserve my sanity and prevent any further One-Man-Scavenger-Army mishaps.

Many thanks, and Best of Wishes,
Condog

About the inability to heal, that may not be a bug. Whether or not you heal over time is determined by how much of the health bar is red. When the red gets too big, you'll actually start losing health. To make matters worse, the red wounds can actually grow, converting some of the black damage to red over time, making you start to lose health quicker, or stopping your healing.

And if you fall through the game like that, I think you can fix it by saving and using the "reset squad position only" option under "new game import squad". To be safe though, you may want to minimize and backup your save file before saving the game with a character glitches through the map.

Thank you. My issue was that the red bar expanded into the negative hit points, rendering solo recovery impossible. Is that, in fact, a part of the game?

I think so. I mean it would make logical sense to say that grave wounds only get worse until treated properly.

But from a game play perspective it's a tad ludicrous for a man to be in an infinite coma.

Another squad member can bandage you up and carry you to a bed, if you don't have a base, they rent beds at Mr. Floppy's Flophouses in any city.

I was noting the inability to heal in some occasions in a single player game. It has, however, been noted, and I will now never play Rambo again.
