Is the entire map open?

So I bought the game, and am trying to travel from Tebooze to Clowsteady. I get to a point where no matter how much I click my characters won't go past, I try to go back, and I have the same result. is this a bug, or am I just doing something wrong?
To be clear, I'm standing in the desert, clicking all around the bottom of the screen (trying to go back) and my characters are not doing anything.

I experienced this as well It has somthing to do with the loading of a new zone if u load a new area on any place on the map It clears up, also u can place a extra toon In a nearby town so when u are experiencing this u simply move to that toon It will load the zone and the isseu Is resolved.
so far I havend't had any trouble fixing this bug on my own.
good luck to all.

I have been to all sorts of places on the map and even off map in the South East corner. My blue X was completely gone and I was wandering Northerly from the South East corner trying to get up to the town tucked in the mountains. I kept going further off map and had to backtrack lest I get completely lost. I like the desert by the way. It is really growing on me.

Yep. I think this even presents NPCs from entering your zone?Blastmetal wrote:I experienced this as well It has somthing to do with the loading of a new zone if u load a new area on any place on the map It clears up, also u can place a extra toon In a nearby town so when u are experiencing this u simply move to that toon It will load the zone and the isseu Is resolved.

I'm having this problem around the area of Brink, and all the suggested fixes have done nothing. Most of the town of Brink as well as a rectangular area north of it are blocked off by an invisible wall. I've saved and loaded, I've quit and started the game again, I even checked the game integrity with Steam. It's as though a rectangular invisible wall was slapped down, and the edge of it hit right through the town of Brink, blocking the northern half of the town but not a few southern buildings.

Yes, I've tried rebooting. No, Brink isn't near the edge of the map. It's closer to the center than it is to any edge:
.
Anyway, I've been to the edge of the map (AFTER I had been to Brink and tried all this, mind you), and there is no map border; if you keep walking the land mesh ends but you can continue to walk on a invisible flat floor, at least for me.

It sounds as though you're experiencing issues with the navmesh, rather than any deliberate invisible walls. As you've seen when you come to the edge of the map, you can continue moving despite their not being a mesh there currently. Try pressing Ctrl+shift+F11, or simply saving and reloading to rebuild the navmesh. Hopefully when the AI is redesigned to better acknowledge player built walls, some of the pathing issues will be resolved due to the rework. If not, we'll just have to continue to use Ctrl+shift+F11 or saving/reloading for a bit longer.

That is quite bizarre, haven't heard of anything like that happening to anyone previously. Does it persist when you start a new game and import squad with buildings?
It seems like this is a chunk loading issue for the most part. One trick to get around this is to leave a guy sitting off in another chunk area (basically any other city) and just zoom to him if you encounter the issue.
I actually did that before I did the new game import squad option. Zooming off didn't work, either. The new game import squad thing did, though.Aku wrote:It seems like this is a chunk loading issue for the most part. Well I'm glad it helped, as far as I know the only issues with new game import squad with buildings that often crops up are navmesh issues with player constructed buildings. Nothing as troublesome as what you experienced, and nothing ctrl+shift+f11 shouldn't have taken care of.Argus wrote:I actually did that before I did the new game import squad option.
