Dismantle bug

As of the .42 patch, I started playing with building up a nice and true base. I had some smaller buildings already pre-made, but needed to expand my operations.

I started to dismantle a few things inside one of my small houses, and a very annoying bug popped up. The first thing I dismantled was a Flour storage placement, and this went fine.

I then had a few other squad members start to take down my two ovens and a rum still. They all three finished at about the same time, and after each one was complete, the squad member that was assigned to the task was teleported about 1-2 hours worth of running away from my base, directly into the middle of groups of Dust Bandits.

I managed to find them quick enough to save two of them by starting them running back to base with bandit trains in tow, but the third one is currently laying on the desert floor waiting for my squad to run out to him for a rescue. I'm afraid to continue rearranging my base now, for fear that I am going to have to continue to locate and rescue lost squad members.

Not sure if this is just my save game or if it is a bug that anyone else can reproduce.
Can someone else try it?
If it is reproduce-able across different save files, I'll refrain from uploading mine. If not, I'll zip it up and upload.

This just happened to me too when I dismantled a training dummy, but only to one of my workers. He ended up a few kms away.

I've dismantled numerous objects, both interior and exterior. I haven't run into this issue, is there something specific you can do to reproduce the issue consistently?

No. After the initial post, I was able to successfully dismantle the rest of what I was doing for that stage of my renovations.

It wasn't until about five minutes ago that when I was starting to dismantle another set of Building Materials storage crates that it happened again. I had 5 squad members inside a large house breaking down a total of 8 crates. The first four or five went fine, then moved the squad members onto the next ones, and when those finished, poof, there they went across the map. No deaths this time, I was watching for it.

The only common theme is that I end up with another NPC squad, although this time it was only a 1 out of 3 that I ended up with Hostiles, the other two ended up with Traders and I think the Empire.... Could be mistaken, but definitely non-aggro to your standard faction settings.

Yes i have tried this to. He first dismantled a research bend without problems. But dismantle the shack send him straight across the map to a caravan. My luck was, that i had a bunch of guys in the same area. So he went home safe :)

I have also run into this problem, but only on my work computer. The only theory I have is that the loading time has something to do with it. My work computer takes a long time to load into a game, save, and refresh after dismantling. Since I have played probably twice as much at home and never run into it, that is my best guess. It could have something to do how the information is being processed, or where the information is being grabbed from for refreshing the map after dismantle. Another possibility is depending on the exact location something is built on. I THINK the times this happened to me were inside buildings that were built on uneven land.

I´m not sure i understand you´r theory about load time.
The one time i have tried it, were after start up. My squad at the other side of the map, where untouched, and my dismantle guy showed up close to them. Don´t know if there is a connection between that. But i have a squad out again now, so i will find something to dismantle.
Part of my building were on a cliff, and the rest on flat surface.

Ah you know, now that you mention it, I read my previous post again and I have no idea where I was going with that. I had just gotten home after a 12 hour shift and hadn't slept the day before, so I was a bit loopy in the morning :) Sorry about that.

All I know for certain is that this bug had occurred multiple times for me on my work computer, probably about 7 times while testing. My home computer cannot seem to replicate the bug. I am guessing what I meant about the load times is that my work computer is not really designed for gaming, so other low end computers might have the same problem. I cannot for the life of me think what could be causing it.

My PC isn't really a slouch, can run the game with all graphics options maxed and render distances to full, without lagging. So I am going to say it really has nothing to do with PC spec.

That's good info then. Hopefully their team will be able to recreate the issue and figure it out. While it's not quite as bad as some other bugs I have seen, it is rather annoying. Makes me feel like I need to have the men start using a buddy system. They better not make me get those child leashes you put on kids when you drag them to Disney Land.
