Mine are the same way. It doesn't cause any problems though.
Just add the name of the file to your mods.cfg as they are
examplemod.mod
example mod.mod
example_mod.mod

as long as the extension in the mods.cfg file is .mod they should work. If you put them in here and they still aren't working then there's something else wrong.

If you want, you can tell me what you've done in this thread and I'll try to sort it out for you.

Wow, I feel like crap, I typed it up the way it's supposed to be done. <_<
But, that way doesn't work yet.
Wow, I typed up the work around and it doesn't work either.
That's what I get for typing the methods up and THEN testing it . <_< herp a derp derp

What you want is not currently possible in our version of the FCS.
In the next update, Chris said that he would add the level editor, and with that should come an improved version of the FCS. Hopefully that will allow us to do things like this.

When I succeed at doing it in the new FCS I'll type up how on here.
But if you want stupid power like that, you can try my godmode mod. http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=11&t=461

EDIT:
I forgot that you could modify the basedata without actually doing a mod, that will work.
But if you do that then you will encounter issues when updating. You will most likely have to re-download the game to patch.
Or if you make a backup of your Kenshi folder then just replace your modified basedata with the old unmodified one.

This method works, but It only allowed me to hire 1 of the guards, nothing happened when I tried to hire more.
And I don't feel like working on it right now when there will be so much more I can do next patch.

Well, with graeywulf's mod, I assume you no longer need help with this.
