Mulitplayer/Lan versjon ??

Me and my brother where thinking if it was a lan versjoin we can join up and build/trade/fight together but on the "lan or mulitplayer" versjon you can only have 4 people from "youre singel play" versjon so that we dont have like 20 guys and have it easy. And if we have a "lan" versjon we have or own server so no one else can come and kill us. But on "multiplayer" versjon its "free for all" to join and team up and things like that.
I and my brother think that it will be more fun and in the future if this is posible
what do other people think?
