Will there be a chance for us to capture enemies in battle and turn them into workers? This would be a super effective way to build a labor force while not having to use my primary warriors lol.
Why yes, I just destroyed your army, burned your city to the ground, and terrorized the entire continent by myself. Tea?

Slavery ( or something like it ) is said to be part of the game in the future.
but i don't think any saint andrews crosses or floggers will be added.
waits to see who gets that reference

There was a huge topic about slaves and I think the topic was even named slavery. Please use the search. It is nicer for everyone when discussion happen in one place.

Yeah...not good to start new topic but the discussion is so lengthy I have trouble following the discussion...interesting though. Here's the link to the discussion:

Anyway I really need a fuction to put prisoners in chains. I caught a bandit boss with bounty on his head. I rest at hotel to recover injury, saved game and exit. When I load the game, the bandit woke up and ran away. It's always like that, when you load the game anyone who's carrying a body will drop it on the ground.
I chased him along with dozens other of the city guards. He got cornered at the mountain ledge in the city, beaten senseless then thrown down the mountain side and died. Wasted all my effort fighting the bandit gang and carrying him all the way to collect the bounty.

Yeah i saw that huge discussion, it was kinda hard to follow, so many interjections, so i just wanted some fresh views on it was all. I figured i would start a new thread to see what (if anything) had changed on the topic. I also used the term "capturing enemies" because of the negative feedback i saw on using the term "slavery". I apologize to those i offended for double posting a topic, just thought i would stir up some additional conversation on the topic

A workaround is to make sure prisoners are unarmed, and when you load, drop a stick on the ground for each prisoner. They'll snap them up and dutifully get themselves beaten silly again. No running, no fuss.arthoz wrote:...

Just leaving them armed will do the trick as well.

i think its super funny that people post a question, and someone alludes to a similar question saying that the op should search through hundreds of threads and thousands of posts to find an outdated answer

That's why the search function is so great! No one has to read hundreds of topics and thousands of posts to know what's suggested or planned and what not. They can just try couple keywords and they can just check few posts.
The problem is that people seem to ignore the search function or search with a long and very specific title with rare choice of words.

Since we`re on the same subject here, there should be a pretty sweet idea for this sort of thing, like attempting to make a labour prison of some sort.
anyways, if I were to make an update for this, I would call it the Kenshi Prison Kit Update Edition, sounds a bit cheesy, either way, here are the ideas:
1. Ball and chain
Ball and chain is a wearable object (on the foot) basically what it does is it cripples the legs and makes it extremely heavy so that the person whos wearing it can run very slowly, this is useful to avoid prisoners from escaping.
2. Extended Cells
Just like the current cell ingame, except that this one is alot bigger, in the future, this could be arguably useful as when your recruiting the prisoner, the chances of them accepting your offer also varies in the comfortability of the cell and of course, how the player treats said prisoner.
Extended Cells should also be so that there are more space for other prisoners to share cell with, which in mind comes along prisoners fighting each other in the same cell, which is always fun to watch.
3. Execution by crucifixion
Crucify your enemy in a cross-like structure, this may seem a bit offensive but fallout new vegas does it, this could be used for intimidation, lets say you crucified a member of an enemy faction, having him out in the field when the enemy attempts to raid you will cause them to flee or scare them away, thus making it a great mechanism to avoid being raided, until a larger party has enough balls to raid you
4. Specialized Arena
A structure the size of 2 or 3 houses, with the purpose of basically forcing captured enemies to fight each other to the death, its an arena obviously, this arena has 2 special cages where you put your prisoners to fight, this building will override the prisoners faction and just turn him into some kind of gladiator, that way it would be possible to fight someone of the same faction, its like adding 2 cannibals in the arena and forcing both of them to murder each other in battle.
Q > (what do you gain from this other than watching them fight to the death?)
Lets say that if the devs finally decide to add some kind of gladiator system/roll into the game, basically the more you train your captives the stronger they get, this could somehow add an economic mechanism as you can sell out your trained captives for higher profits, so lets say you captured a starving bandit and you decided to train him or if he somehow survived a bunch of arena battles and somehow got stronger, for a starter a starving bandit could cost about = 100 or so ingame currency, where a trained starving bandit that became a godtier gladiator would cost around 3000 or 5000 ingame currency. either that or ask him to join up with you.
5. Prisoners outfit
By Massively producing these outfits, like any other cosmetic armor or outfit in the game, this will have a different twist to it, its just to identify whos at your prison camp, but lets say that a prisoner with such clothing accidently escapes, there is a slight chance that a friendly faction or a trade faction or perhaps even the police will return with the escaped prisoner claiming they have found him, depending on whoever found him, the dialog will be different, such as if the police finds him they will simply give the prisoner back while the trader would want to exchange a small quantity of money so the player can get his prisoner back.
6. Shiv Blade
Very small daggerlike object, there is an extremely small chance that a prisoner with a decent science capacity is able to craft one while he`s on his cell, if the player attempts to release the prisoner with such weapon, he`ll try to murder the player, the shiv blade has a backstab mechanism, it may be terrible in battle but it can be fatal or deadly when the player isn`t watching, chances are, one fatal backstab can lead to massive bleeding and will instantly make the player unconscious until it gets rescued by friendly.
i`ll add more idea as I go
