Hello people of the mighty forums,
I have recently found that kenshi isn't challenging me enough anymore which is why I have taken a break from it till the next update.
I understand that the aim of kenshi is to start off as a nobody who nobody cares about and build a group of people and finally stand tall against the bandits etc. however once I got to my second play through of kenshi I found that the difficulty sense was missing, even when playing on rock bottom (my favourite start off as of yet) I could become well off in half an hour with out fear of bandits.
This is where I ask a question and some advice.
Firstly will difficulty options be available in the near future?
Secondly what can I do to experience kenshi with difficulty?

i recomend the newest version #2
or use the forgotten construction set yourself and mod for more NPC's
its how i made my game more difficult

Dude, the game is still in alpha, with a lot of stuff not implemented yet. Just wait until: kidnappings, hunger, diplomacy, dehydration, raids, and the other nasty bits get added. I feel that its gotten harder now that i don't get first aid in the towns for free anymore( i don't think that was a bug)

the problem is that this game suffers from what i call minecraft syndrome. Its quality is too good in alpha that some people keep thinking that its a finished product. Granted, if you look at the garbage coming out of the "AAA" studios, you would think this game is pretty good as is.

Its pretty sad actually, Kenshi has crashed less on me, then some of the other newer games i stupidly per-ordered in the past.

I know this lol I have had it for ages now besides it is obvious its in alpha as its in early access etc.
I'm just asking about methods to increase difficulty in the mean time, its hardly a criticism of the game.
I think you may of misread this as it is asking for advice on gameplay and a simple question rather than a full complaint.

sorry man, i misunderstood the post.

One thing i did, was start using planks, and fighting by myself. Then if i was beaten, i would send in a rescue party to drag me back to base. This is a great way to level up some skills.

the other thing i did, was scout out new base locations. Based on the way the sand coloring is changing, i am suspicious that will be an indicator for farmland/well water spots(the random dark spots in the sand) . One way to mark these locations is to build a wall, small shack, and that will give you a new "base". so in the future, if these are implemented, you know were to look.

Another thing, is you can beat up starving bandits, heal them, then give them better weaponry. That's always fun to do, and it helps you weapon smiting/first aid skills a lot.

Change all bandit group sizes to 15, and the single stat modifier to (+50% randomized). this changes each INDIVIDUAL bandits stats dramatically. You could run into a group of super warriors, a group of horrible weaklings, or a group that is balanced between the two.

Another thing is to add a customized group of bandits with high level weaponry.

A final thing you could do is to set ALL cities to hostile and place your start point in a neutral zone (such as wasteland).
Why yes, I just destroyed your army, burned your city to the ground, and terrorized the entire continent by myself. Tea?
