Was doing just fine until I went to build my prison cells. After I hit confirm the game went to its usual pause. Then it crashed.

This one is 15 minutes of play. I was just waiting and moving the camera around as my guys built the prison cells.

Just got done with an attack. Played between 20 and 30 minutes this time. Was still building prison cells and had one guy picking up some of the bandits and throughen them in built cells. Just told him to get another then clicked esc so I can save incase it crashdumped. Save was succesful when it crashed.

Did you try the workaround by deleting your /Kenshi/data/ folder and re-validating files with Steam, yet?

Make sure to backup your Kenshi folder just in case. :)

Re-validating appears to only check if files are missing when compared to the Steam build.
If there is a difference between some files, it hasn't been properly updating lately, so we are forced to delete files in order to force a proper update.

Ahh I see. I thought it deleted the corrupted files or those that have not been updated yet.

On a side note to this one I have done the delet data files and re-validated prior to this play time.

It lasted around 30 minutes. Was building more prison cells and just did an autosave success when it crashed.

At this point the only option I see for myself is to more or less delet the game from my pc. Then re-install it to see if this changes anything. Have already created a seperate file in another location for all my saved game data.

Though before the last crash I had deleted all but my saved data and re-installed the game. I decided to reset the Navmesh. I did save exit game then come back in. After words I played the game about 15 to 20 minutes before the crash. I was just waiting on some building to be done. An went over to look at my crafters when this crash happened. I did scroll over to them did not click on there portrait to go there.

On a side note why is it faster for one guy to build the VI ore mine as a guy with the same engineering skill to build one prison cell. Not like the prison cell is more complicated if anything should be refurse as in speed.

I think next time I play I will start a new game. Maybe the flaw is some were in my saved data see if maybe I will get to play more then. Though again tomarrow evening I should have a 1tb hard drive and a 64bit os. Wonder if that will make a diffrunce.

Just encountered a crash of my own after ~20 minutes of gameplay.

Clicking on Bread Barrel in the Construction Panel caused the crash for me.

Encountered the dreaded Error Code: 183 again.
This was after another ~20 minutes of gameplay.

Crash occurred while camera was locked to a char running from Eyesocket to Skinners Roam.

There's a memory leak - that's for sure.
When i watch memory used by kenshi and restart game if it gets too high I don't get any crashes.
If I forget about it... Super CRAAASH! And 183 somewhere in logs, yes.
I use steam version(and I did delete data folder and verified cache, don't bother me with this!)

Seimears: What are your system specs? I think you may be running out of video memory. Try reducing the texture quality in the game options.

Opening and closing inventory causes massive RAM usage buildup. I suspect there's a memory leak there.

Memory used is not returned as it continues infinitely (can just spam "i" button)

EDIT: I managed to crash kenshi by spamming 'i', so I'm not mistaken. And a crash dump in order I think.
