So I was thinking about how Chris intends to at one point add an unarmed fighting mechanic into Kenshi and i cant help but hope that when he does add it he might add a new game start for it. I was brainstorming a few names for it if it ever becomes a reality; "Path of the Successor" is my personal favorite as reminiscent of our favorite unarmed killing machine Kenshiro. Maybe give you some cloth armor and a heart protector and a modest start into unarmed? because i personally would love to watch my character slowly become an unstoppable punching machine.

Or the Path of the fist, or The Monk.

im just wondering how he might implement unarmed combat. i mean there are many forms of hand to hand in the real world. so i was thinking like having a martial arts vendor/trainer that let you equip fighting styles as opposed to weapons allowing you to swap to see what ones you like? i mean the final choice is mostly Chris' but im eager to see how it develops.

Would definitely love to see multiple styles of hand-to-hand.

Personally, I just want to be able to grab and throw bodies around. :D

Wrestling? that would be great. tossing a bandit boss off of a roof onto some OTHER bandits. Maybe some fighting style meant for debilitating the enemy without killing them so like breaking arms and legs without bloodloss. you could bounty hunt real easy with that and not have to worry about them bleeding out or something.

Probably more like Judo or Aikido, the throwing part anyway. I'd be very interested in some Chinese martial arts showing up, although...Kenshi seems to focus more on the Japanese styles. Either way, unarmed is probably going to be my favorite.

Agreed! nothing shows character progress better than your ability to singlehandedly take down heavily armored foes with nothing but your fists and or feet. Ip Man comes to mind.

Yeah an Ip man style would mean no need to worry if they have weapons or not.

Though like some one stated a fighting style that takes out arms or legs and not just going for the kill. I wish you could do something like that with the sword play as well.

yea that might be a nice feature to add to sword combat. i mean they could still bleed out but they are much less likley to die or bloodloss from their right arm than their stomach and chest and such. i think they would have to make it so you lose defense skill during that stance or something to even it out. or maybe make it slower? either way its a neat idea.
