It took me hours to figure most things out, but it is finally here!
This Mod aims to improve the visual appearance of the Kenshi UI.

INSTALLATION:

1. (Optional)
Backup following files:
..\Kenshi\data\gui\theme_skins.xml
..\Kenshi\data\gui\gfx\inv_box.png
..\Kenshi\data\gui\gfx\theme.png

2.
Just extract the "data" folder from the .zip to your Kenshi folder.

Steam:
...\Steam\steamapps\common\Kenshi

If you don't own the game on steam and you didn't change the path yourself, the default path should be:
C:\Kenshi

3.
If it asks to overwrite existing files, answer with "yes".

DEINSTALLATION:

Remove the files earlier mentioned.
theme.png, inv_box.png, theme_skins.xml

Currently there are no known bugs.

FAQ:

Q: Is there any performance loss?
A: There shouldn't be any performance loss at all.

Q: I don't like the texture..
A: Maybe I will release another version some time.. not sure about this yet.

Q: Why did you edit the theme_skins.xml?
A: I had to edit it so that I can use a real texture on the UI. (Image size, coordinates,..)

Any plans on releasing a light opacity version? I ask because while I like the current light opacity mod, I think it'd look even better with the textured look you've created.

Wasn't sure about the transparency. Either you couldn't see through it or you couldn't really see the texture but I think I found a nice solution.
Also added your name to the changelog since it was actually your idea.

BTW: Someone knows the maximum number of attachments you can upload in a single post?

i have a quesion which maybe obsolet, but does the UI enchant still works with the latest Experimental version 0.72.1 ?
i hadn't looked through the files by now because, i'm not on the gaming-rig till Monday, while i'm on homecare-duty

I'm pretty sure it won't work since there were some UI changes and they probably made changes to the theme_skins.xml.
But since the new UI is coming in the next update I didn't bother with updating the mod, sorry!

you're welcome, thanks for the reply, it was a question out of the blue, while i had crawled through the forum. sometimes old mod still works fine without any flaw and are just perfect,that noone bothers to discuss or praise it while everybody knows it does their job, because it is just perfect.
and thanks for the mention that it will be implemented later aswell ^^

PS: i had seen a similar one from vurt from a longtime ago when he was active so i though this is a "continue" which still works

The zip file for both downloads is corrupt. I tried both winrar and 7zip. Please fix this mod looks great!

Sir, you should totally dedicate some of your precious time to rebuild this mod for latest version of the game. Old-style gui looks very solid and minimalistic, and i'm sure many would find it appealing today.
