How to fix aspect ratio

Hi guys i have been making kenshi videos for a while but its really difficult to get a great quality because for some reason when i record the video is turned into a 4:3 ratio.

I cant work out what settings i need to change all my other videos are in a better ratio like 16:9

I have tried changing the resolutions and even tried looking in the graphics section of the game. I dont know what to do

I'm not sure whether I could help but I think we need to know which recording software you are using and maybe some pc specs

I have used both fraps and action they can record in 16:9 ratio
As for specs not sure if its that either as i can do it.
But a
i5
8GB ram
gtx 750 ti
