When you assign a permanent worker to a workbench or resource deposit (In my case a copper/iron mine) They empty food out of their inventory when making their delivery runs to storage containers.

Simply put say my guy with a backpack is set to permanent work on a copper resource and he has 1 bread in his inventory, regardless of whether the bread is in his backpack or pockets he will always return the bread to the bread basket and then directly after that he will deliver the resources he has been assigned to harvest.

The issue is that I stock my guys with a bunch of bread so I can leave them to mine for a day or two without having to micromanage their hunger every couple of ingame hours but since they seem eager to refill my bread basket and starve themselves Its made micromanaging become an even bigger annoyance.

they seem to do this when they dont have enough room to haul whatever it is theyre going to haul. Everything gets put into the appropriate storage before the AI attempts to haul again.
When the AI automaticly gets food from the same barrel they place it into this shouldnt still be an issue. It's not really a bug, more of a temporary oversight due to intended behavior.

I think it should be that they should always try to hold onto atleast 1 piece of food.

thats probably a good idea, it will depend on how the actual food getting (which is coming soon hopefully though?) works.

I assume it'll be something like a universal food storage that your squaddies just grab food from when they're hungry. As far as resource management problems go in Kenshi, a lot of them are just solved with making a separate containing for each individual resource.

Noticed an update just went through, reloaded Kenshi and noticed my guys running to the bread basket for food right away :D Consider this not a problem anymore!
