[0.93.4] Slaves Vanishing

in my current playthrough the slaves are for some reason vanishing after the first visit to any place that may have them, for example the first time i find a holy mine the slaves are there, however if i leave when i come back they are all gone, only the guards remain. This happened with all mines even Rebirth, only the guards remain. i checked the forums quickly and saw no mention of this, has anyone else experienced this?

I tried importing the game, the slaves were back, but as soon as i leave the area once again only the guards remain, the slaves are gone.

There's apparently a new Holy Nation slave caravan that was introduced a few updates ago, though I haven't personally seen it and haven't heard of it working properly yet. That may account for it, though.

However I wonder about the slaves disappearing from Rebirth. If I understand correctly the caravan is supposed to be bringing slaves to Rebirth, not taking them from there.

Though Rebirth also has those furnaces....
