Faction members and starving
hi,
it happens from time to time that a member of my faction starves to death. Food is there plenty... 200 bread, >70 food cubes......
Therefor i would like to have a notification if some one is starving.
I played with my fighter far away and didn´t paid attention to the base.
One of my base members was carried by the rescue guy (Find and rescue + find and put in bed), don´t know why the rescue guy did not put him to a bed, just standing around. Due to this the carried guy started to starve. Maybe hunger should be deactivated for carried man, or a notification that someone is starving.

I'd second this actually I'm having all manner of issues as well with base management and hunger, more so when a person within my faction has food but doesn't do a thing with it or within radious of a person with a backpack filled to the brim yet still manages to starve because they're working on a machine and the food isn't directly in their inventory.

I'm using Hive Worker Drones for all of the labouring, so it takes a while for them to become hungry but I've noticed this happen as well. Occasionally, one or two will enter the red. Not enough to become a major problem though.
While a notification would indeed be great, micromanagement is a key feature and you should check on your workers and other faction members who aren't in focus regularly. I check everybody at least once per day or two. Takes about 20-30 seconds to do with a (current) total number of fifty members.

what food are you using?
also if it happens again and you got food in inventory, save your game then zipup that save folder and upload it for the Devs.

Do you believe the sexes should be equal?

Then Men would become unmanageable

not sure if the Devs will add a out right warning saying so, but more like maybe a flashing name or something.
Kenshi is more about the you have to pay attention to your people and watch for the hints it gives for when something is happening.

If you have a food in Food Storage, a Shop Counter or in a cooking stove, nearby people will automatically loot it if they have no food and get into yellow hunger.
When making expeditions, you have to supply your own food for the trip. Naturally.
It does suck that your rescue guy idled away from your base though, but that's not a food problem. That's path-finding I reckon.

That is a bit of an issue at times.TotallyRandomPerson wrote:That's path-finding I reckon.
As a precaution, I've taken to building food and meat storage in the middle of a room with little extra space between barrels to reach the 'use nodes' and haven't seen one faction member in the red since doing so.
You understand that slider is food time, so the less you set it, faster hunger bar decays? 0.25 means characters starve 4 times faster than normal.Set wrote:Also the hungry bar decays extremely fast right now (I have the slider in 0.25)......and well, I have no base to have a reliable source of food

Issue is known, most of the time it's related to characters inability to consume raw greenfruit, which they pick up, and, considering it's food, won't get something else, but since they won't eat it, they'll starve.
I rarely find my characters starving without any greenfruit in their hands, and even then, in some cases, they aren't really hungry enough, but it's just me overcaring
Also, as far as i know, "GUI hunger alert" is a planned feature. I believe i've seen it somewhere on devs trello page https://trello.com/b/tH5cLxBv/kenshi

I've performed a small test for you, was wondering myself:Set wrote:Are you sure?
Pay attention to the hunger bar and day and time. Both chars are fresh start, of same race and been both working on the well. Skins had hunger bar set to 0.25, and Su had it set to 8. It's definitely divider, not multiplier
