Question regarding animal companions.

So, I know you can get one if you start the game using the A wanderer and his Dog, starter but I'm wondering how else can I acquire animal companions? Also is there a bag for the dog or is it only those, pack garr things?

Holy Farms sell Dogs and Bulls. They also sell backpacks for the Bulls.

Dogs are capable of wearing normal human backpacks, but they look weird.

One other question, who do I talk to to buy one of the animals, I'm at a Holy Farm and I see nothing

Should be a "Holy Farm Leader" somewhere you can talk to. He's usually found inside one of the buildings, so look for a public one. Keep in mind that entering during the night is still trespassing, so you may have to wait for day time.

Secondary option, and a favorite of mine that I am unsure if has been nerfed or not:

1. Knock out a hostile animal, but don't kill it.
2. Bandage the animal.
3. Have someone pick it up.
4. Dump the animal in a town. It will fight and get arrested.
5. Pay that animal's bounty. It should now be your squadmate.

I got a Beak Thing, Gorilla, and an Iron Spider this way.

It would have been a lot more terrifying if the cloning exploit wasn't fixed way back in the multiple squad introduction in .70s, or we'll have a squad of 20+ Leviathans that destroy any faction that tries to mess with it.
