So i've been thinking about this on and off for the past couple of days and i thought i'd mention it/request it since i think it'd be kinda cool.

and basically it is that:

Books could be actual learning tools that give our characters new dialogue and things that might have them conversing when they're working/idle/walking/etc.

for example they could read the Holy Flame and depending on the percent read/learned . they would be given dialogue that people who've read opposing books, or have opposing ideals to the ideas in the Holy Flame, it would occasionally spark dialogue of them debating it, or if they've both read it and both characters have similar points of view with it. you might see them discussing it in a more conversational and less debateing manner.

even going so far as to point out different characters , motivations, and stories with in the book that they found inspiring - or if the disliked it depressing .

I thought it might be a nice way to add a bit of dynamic conversation to the game. the more books they read the more conversations they can start/share/take part in with people.

which i think could also give more personality to the characters instead of them being quiet most of the time.

It could also give them the ability to answer questions or impress NPC or if the ideals are controversial even have them start a bar fight , or something .

like if you have someone in your traveling group who hates the Holy Nation and you stop at a bar in the holy nation, you might get 2 HN citizens discussing and then one of your characters interjects something about the conversation that they find offensive and of course fighting breaks out.

it would also open it up to add more conversation books through mods and thus continually allow the increasing of dialogue in the game. which could make the game world fill a bit more a live and of course add some unpredictability to the characters.

building on the answering questions thing. if there were some puzzles added like a labyrinth of some kind then them having read a book would help. the percent they've read/learned the book would effect the odds of them giving you a correct answer.
