v0.96.2 Experimental
-Placing buildings now has an adjustable slope-matching setting, so you can make more upright buildings

Wind power works most of the time, I upgraded some batteries, and have enough to cover things when the wind stops blowing.

arid locations are not that bad, cactus is still food man. =P
In the borderlands, a decent newbie spawn point for base building, has reasonable efficiency producing wheat and hemp.

Cactus + Wheat = 75nu food. Surplus cactus can go into rum / chewsticks.

Hemp... is pretty darn robust. It makes Fabric

Fabric makes clothing
fabric + leather / iron plates / chainmail = better armour

Fabric is also needed for producing certain weapon types as well. Or was that based on quality? I think it is for the higher quality weapons.

Fabic + more hemp = first aid kits

Hemp also makes Fuel, if you have wind problems just use the surplus hemp from fabric production to make biofuel and run generators.

Havn't produced hash yet, my space hemp always goes into fuel.

I built a town in a first gameplay and I always build there becuase It turned out a perfect spot. It's more or less centered, in a pretty safe place and it has fertile lands, iron and copper.

Someone else already found the place and immortalized in the wiki in the page of Bad Teeth:

It's the outpost that person named as "Ival".

Near the copper resource there, theres a small area where there's 97% to 100% iron terrain. And fertile ground to plant. As it's near the mountains you also have wind, and it's beside a mountain pass that allows you to go from that river valley to the desert back of Bad Teeth and avoid the Holy Nation if they dislike you, while you're near enough to trade with them if they don't (or steal them, or attack them).
