Surprised, annoyed but mostly pleased with how the game reacts to player actions. This game is going to be epic.
So . . . building walls around a mining site attracts more bandits?
After three years, I started playing the game again to see how it is now. I built a wall around a mining site so I can protect myself from hungry bandits but poof! in comes Black Dragon genin.

Never heard about walls being related to frequency of attacks. Must be a coincidence

its not the walls. you built a outpost, this attracts attacks from NPC's
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?

By outpost u mean buildings in general (including farms and mines) or outpost is when u place something from specific building menu like 'building tab'?Hatsune_Neko wrote: ↑Fri Jun 22, 2018 2:00 pmits not the walls. you built a outpost, this attracts attacks from NPC's

any building creates a outpost.

Any building that's set to create one anyhow - which is most buildings. But a few things like a cooking fire and camping bed are technically buildings too, but they don't create an outpost. Of course you can modify what does and does not do this.

I really feel like this feature should be balanced/dare i say "scaled" (i know some people are allergic to that word over here) a bit more tbh. There should be set rules on quantity and frequency and perhaps some minor randomness about base attacks because right now if you dare to even plop down 2 stone mines and a processor with it's storage boxes, uncle canhead will pay you a visit from time to time. Maybe having one actual building should trigger it or the quality of walls but then again you lose a bit of the challenge by making it scaled like that.
...and so my legacy continues...
This is a dystopian world where anything you build is yours only as long as you can hold onto it. If you build something of value of course others are going to come and try and take it away from you. They don't care if it's a palace or pit. It's just something that they can take to make their own lives better. You are tired of mining copper and iron for little pay and build a mine to make your life easier. So are they, and it's easier to take your mine then it is to build one of their own.
Which means that you shouldn't build anything that you are not strong enough to defend.

Yeah, but strong people who already have a pretty nice place aren't going to go out of their way to capture a pit. A palace, certainly...swillo wrote: ↑Sun Jul 01, 2018 2:04 pmThis is a dystopian world where anything you build is yours only as long as you can hold onto it. Even today that's not true. Most rich and powerful people think it all belongs to them.
But in the Kenshi reference:
Tax collectors want taxes regardless of how little you have.
Bandits don't have much and so steal from you.
Ninja, are not going to let you live anywhere near where their fortress is.
Cannibals? Well you are a meal that is staying in one place too long. Your easier to find then one walking around. they don't care about metal, they are looking for meat. Might as well rename one of your characters Bacon.

By all rights, most of it does. Leave to the lazy and poor to think they have rights to things they did not help to build up.
"But I dont have the same options as you do"... Yeah, it's all about you right... Could you maybe fight, and make it better for the next generation? You children? No no, it's all about you, and what others have that you dont.
It's really sad and stupid.
/end rant.
hey......
Never heard about walls being related to frequency of attacks. Must be a coincidence
Currently, people don't path around forts and gates... they just try to bash the gates down. That might be part of the problem...
