Artificial limbs in the world

OP has a very good point in that more people would be needing limb replacements if they were soldiers. However it might be cheaper in a day where a man is worth 100 cats to just conscript more slaves. Only the most elite forces, or people rich enough to spend thousands of cats on a decent replacement, would get a replacement. If the FCS could add in different limbs (quality would be based on "armour grade") then at least we could make select npcs use prosthetic limbs. An automated system isn't really needed though.

People now just crawl back to their guard post with legs missing.

You would need to add a hospital where they can crawl to get there stump before returning to their post.
