So we're heading back to this cannibal infested lab, and about half way across the bridge, I'm spinning the camera around, viewing the area. Then a pile of damage indicators pile up onto themselves from behind our position - what is this monster fight? We just came from there and it was empty of anything, just a few seconds ago?

Scrawny cannibals, berzerkers, tech hunters, and scrawny cannibals; all fighting each other. The battlefield is so large, I can't get it all in one picture and still make out all the different factions in the battle.

Where did these different groups all come from, and so quickly? Did they all suddenly materialize when our backs were turned?

Great picture though, shows a lot of different things if you study it closely. I particularly like the scrawny cannibal carrying the berzerker on his shoulder, and fighting the iron spider.

Well, I guess we had better take control of the surrounding area first. Like there's too much chaos happening for my liking here.

We'll engage...

Elvyra targeting the closest iron spider (I caught the bolt just leaving the crossbow - nice), while the recon squad moves up to engage the closest enemies and then establish a bridgehead, so the rest of the faction could spill out onto the plains from behind most of the aggressors.

Close combat in the Hidden Forest at dawn.

Combined group of cannibals, which we literally met face to face, scaling opposite sides of a hill.

I didn't hesitate, we drew blades and charged. I kept the camera in close, and slowly rotated taking pictures.

Look at the sky in the background, it suggests violence.

The expression of ferocity on the faces of the Dark Sinners, the clashing and slashing sounds of the battle (it's louder when you are this close to it), blood pools on the ground, the brutality of the entire affair.

When I was experiencing this, only one word came to mind which describes what I felt: Savagery!

A contrast to savagery is cuteness.

And although playing Kenshi can be an uncaring or heartless experience, there are some (sparse) moments when kindness and humanity may be displayed.

One such occurrence is depicted below.

A baby goat has been found within the confines of Sin City. It's status box always displayed "Aimless" and it just remained near the kitchen building, watching the bustle of activity around it.

Above, is a member of the Dark Sinners, crouching down to scratch it behind the ears.

Then there are the moments of entertaining and/or humorous situations.

A traders guild caravan has arrived, outside the main gate of Sin City, and I caught an exchange between their leader and a disgruntled guard.

Is there not enough water about, for you here?

We do wish to start warring The Holy Nation, but I want to finalize the construction of Sin City first.

I don't know what Tech level VI opens up, and to qualify to research it, I require four AI cores. That's been the hitch, with research progress so far (like, I don't even know what they look like yet). Once I see what this technology can potentially add to the outpost, I'll know more on how to complete its' construction.

So I went to the storage chest, where I keep all the tech hunter notes and the special maps I have acquired to date. I pulled out five, which specifically mentioned possible locations to AI cores, and clicked to reveal those spots on the playing map. See picture above for details, as to which ones I'm referring to.

Some of these locations were quite a distance away; one was way out in the East, past The Great Desert, somewhere I never even been to yet. One near the North of Skinner's Roam, one in the Swamps, one off the coast of Vain, and one on that island West of the iron Trails.

I studied the map, and gauged the likely hazards to be encountered, outfitted the faction with appropriate gear and supplies - and off we went, on the hunt for AI cores...

I figured I'd go for the easiest one first - the one in The Swamps.

Along the way, Beep kept on asking for; "that since he is now the world's greatest swordsman" he needs to find "a worthy opponent".

Well, I promised him that if we encountered anything extremely dangerous on our path, that he could have a go at it.

As fate would prove itself - I found a huge monster inside The swamps - and coincidentally - on our path.

I hid the faction in the nearby undergrowth, and after a quick circular scout run of the nearby area, figured no other groups were around (the swamp can spawn groups close, but due to the terrain you might not even know about them).

Then I asked Beep; "if he could please take care of the monster for us girls".

Beep never hesitated - his answer was to draw his sword and then rush to attack.

The world's greatest swordsman, single-handedly taking on a huge monster in The Swamps.

Nice picture, very sharp and well depicted.

Approaching the location of the site in The Swamps, Miu cried out a warning, which immediately prompted for me to pause the game. She's never wrong.

Just a stunningly beautiful portrait.

You could almost say it belongs in an art gallery.

This picture has inspired me to dedicate a futur playthrough, devoted to The Swamps.
