FREEZE

Hi everyone ,
Please excuse me for my english , it s not my native language
I spent more than 300 hours on this game few years ago , never had problems like that one
Few days ago , I was playing then the game crashed , I suspected that the memory was full on my hardrive , I had the same issue with Space Engineers ( I had a ingame message who said that the game can't save cause of memory )
I clean the hardrive , I restart Kenshi , press "continue" , then I had this message " This save is missing zones files , etc " , all my caracters deasapears , my base is not mine anymore , etc
I wanted to load another save , press " escape " , choose " load " , then the game freezed on the loading window ( not the loading screen ) , music still running but no movement ingame , I'm not able to close kenshi , if I press CTRL+ALT+SUP , the screen becomes black , and the only thing I can do to close Kenshi is to restart the computer
I tryed from the Kenshi's main menu to not " continue " but to load an older save , same issue , freeze on the loading window ,
I tryed to import a save , it worked , and I didn't get the weard message , but when I wan't to manually save , freeze on the saving window
This is my biggest problem today and I wish someone can help me
I would like to report another bug , I use to ask to my caracters to carry prisonners full of ore to train strength , but sometimes they just desapears , same issue with prisonners in jail , same issue with beasts on bed ( trick for martial art tainning )
Also , I looked everywhere about that one and I found bugs report , I use to make my caracters's bags full of ores to train strength , but they empty their bag ( sometimes not completly ) even if it's not their tasks and of course I choose the option on the AI menu....

for starters, having the save folder would help. please zip it up and upload it to a cloud storage service. then psot the link here. also make sure its set to public, or to if anyone has the link can access it.
there might be a way to fix your missing characters if we have the data.

as for space, Kenshi has a issue with save file bloat. each save file can reach into the GB range. importing your save will reduce this.
also recommend that you free up more drive space. as it can affect the performance of your computer as well.

Alright, that save seems to be fine. Characters are are there, and base is there. No freezing or crashes.

So I would guess the freeze is caused by the bugged save you tried to load the first time. You could try going to the same folder you found this save in and remove the bugged one. That may help avoid the freezing when you go to load this one.



As for your other two problems.

NPCs disappearing is unfortunately somewhat normal. Make sure to get your prisoners from towns, camps, or nests. Characters spawned from a location are more stable than homeless spawns, and are less likely to disappear.

If you don not have ditch items on in the AI control panel, and they do not have a job that involves that resource, I unfortunately have no idea why they would be putting the resources away. They should only be doing that in those cases.
