I had just loaded up the game in the middle of the empty desert in the south west section of the map. The Dust Bandit somehow beat out a Holy Empire patrol. The incident was isolated. No one else was killed by ghosts and no ghosts revealed themselves. The man in question was perfectly healthy overall.

I've also noticed some odd killing physics. Sometimes when people faint they go flying into the air a good 5-6 feet?

Also I had a crash(unrelated) but the crash report is empty?

Version:
0.22 Alpha

Description:
Party Member killed by nothing.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Load game while party is in the middle of the desert
2. Get attacked by three different parties of Dust Bandits simultaneously.
3. Watch one of your party members take damage at a rapid pace (getting hit 2-3 times per second) without being engaged by any of the bandits.

Expected results:
Despite being outnumbered I expected the bandits would be obliterated by my geared out with skill levels in mid 20's - low 30's team.

Actual results:
Bandits obliterated, but one team member took damage until passing out for no apparent reason.

Consistency
I've only seen it once.

Reported On:
4/13/12

System specs/OS:
Windows 7 64bit
Geforce 445M
8GB RAM
i7 Core

Severity:
Minor: I was able to revive the team member after the fight and he was no longer taking damage, or affected in future battles.

Workaround:
No clue

Didn't think to take a screenshot at the time... honestly thought for a bit that ranged weapons got snuck in somehow and I just didn't realize the game updated

Yeah, that's pretty much exactly what it looked like. He'd take two/three hits, stumble backwards animation, take two hits, stumble backward animation, etc. until passing out from excessive damage to his chest. He had -15 on his left arm, 30 on his stomach, 70 head, both legs taken down to -5, blood at 10 with a loss rate of ~7 -- he got f'd up quick. :?

I've only installed this game once, after reading Chris's post about the problem with versions on the front page. So I definitely have the right version. I saw a thread about being killed by ghosts or invisible people 3 pages back on this forum, but the posts were dated in Jan. and talking about the pre-foliage version and marked as fixed. Unless I completely missed a more recent thread (or misread posted dates), I was just letting Chris know that this bug still seems to be happening, if only rarely.

Edit: just checked back a few pages again... Sorry, I missed your thread Kamos!
Merge this thread with his please Kamos's Thread

This is the other thread I saw from January.

topics merged. don't know what happened with the title, but well... by air.. by fear... who cares seriously ~~1337
