And a squad number cap.

And I am not sure how often he updates the demo but I wonder if the new upcoming features will be put into it? Things like building, etc don't exist in the game right now but are planned for the next upgrade. Perhaps not for the demo though.

Is the built-in editor activated in the demo release?

I know you can't mod anything so I would guess that means the editor is disabled in the demo.

so basically just buy the full version. :)

there is so much more. most importantly being the updates. the demo will be way out of date by now.

the demo isnt actually a separate version, Its just the normal version that requires a game key to unlock the skill and follower cap. Therefore it will never be out of date, but it will be lacking features.

its really not worth it in its current state if you're looking to buy and then play right away. I get the feeling that the majority of purchases are from people wanting to "preorder" and fund the development to help push kenshi to its eventual awesome status, but it really isn't worth it right now.

That means the demo isn't too separated to the full game? The demo is good enough?

Entirely depends on whether or not you want your characters to advance past the skill cap, and whether or not you want to get more than 2 followers. I wouldn't say its "good enough" but the full game isn't as much as you might hope.

im gonna jump in here and say you are, respectfully, wrong.

the full game gives you the ability to mod, use the construction set, have higher levels so that you can fight larger mobs of guys and thus level you group up so when the fll game does come out you can already have a decent squad.

plus by paying 10 dollars you give your part in helping chris develop this game into the beautiful product that he envisioned and that we (the followers) hope for.

so yes, the full game is much more than we might hope.

hum, as I expected. I don't have the same things as the trailer has that's why i really thought that the full game was way more than the demo i'm playing right now.

thank you ;)

Yes, it is only at alpha stage now, so this game is not feature complete by a long way. But the game has an auto-updater so you don't need to keep on top of it all the time and it is very fun to be able to actually level up your guys in the full game. In the demo you spend your whole time running away and avoiding fights. In the full game you can actually move beyond that stage. And you will need to move beyond it for the next update coming soon. Building your own base will be implemented. it will be rudimentary but it is the first step. Apparently there is a big feature push for the coming months so if you were going to buy into the alpha then now or the very near future is one of the best times. Good timing on your part I guess. :)

Now I do not think that most of those features will make it into the demo.

Well, if Matt50 is correct about the demo then technically they will be in but I highly doubt the demo player will be able to make much use of them. Things like building a base would be very poorly balanced if any starting character could scrounge enough material together to build a fully functional building. But yeah, I get your point. I am just being pedantic now.

My definition of "as much as you might hope" is tons of new features like a mission system, crafting, an economy, etc. We just disagree on definitions, i was under the impression that the OP thought the demo was a different download that was missing tastes of core features.

btw if you got over 2 followers in the demo that seems like a bug. Theres also some demo bugs where you can go over the skill caps for weapon skills and med skills.
