almost throught this was spam. I think its a bit too much automation though, and would invalidate the farming skill. Mining automation exists but that stuff uses a general laboring skill which is always useful at one point or another.

I don't know that it invalidates farming, though. You have only a fifth of the plants in a hydroponic farm, from what I've seen, and most likely this set-up would require fairly significant power resources.
It would seem somewhat arbitrary to have automation for mining ore, but watering and weeding a garden are unattainable. And at the end of the day, you're going to likely get more food from having an adequately trained farmer and standard farms than by depending on an automated hydroponics farm, though the latter might better support a small kitchen operation.

None of my people have to work to get building materials, and somebody just runs around to make anything out of iron ore. The only thing I have my laborers on is the copper resource atm. I see no reason to not have automated everything, seeing as how we're researching old(lost) technology that makes ours look like children's toys. I would love to see an auto grain silo as well.
