i was thinking about this for some time now might as well get some feedback on the forum

Robotic humanoid
- similar to human characters with obvious differences
- can be constructed from parts (legs, torso, arms, head) the parts chosen would further decide if the robot can equip human armor and weapons
- some parts could apply special bonuses to the robot such as expanded carry capacity or weaponized arms however their non standard shape would lock out regular armor or weapon slots
- cannot self heal would require maintenance either by a specialist or another robot built for repairs robots would also have oil serving as blood however this does not clot like in humans so a leak could eventually lead to the robot to stalling luckily some maintenance will usually get them up and running
also all repairs for robots happen on the spot unlike humans who need time to recover their bodies
- cannot learn these robots are not all that advanced that they can correct themselves however with the right programming they can be frighteningly competent in a fight

Robotic spider
- small orb like spider machine with six legs and two scything arms
- similar in most respects to the humanoid robot in terms of how it works but drastically reduced functions in favor of numbers and speed
- fairly fast and have a pouncing attack that can stop a fleeing enemy dead in their tracks
- when equipped with bladed arms they have trouble facing armored opponents as they do not have the strength to cut through armor

there could also be rogue robots who no longer have the ability to identify an owner wandering the wastes they will attack any active human on sight but could be worth the risk to re purpose them into your own personal robot army

I don't know if I like the pull away from the human element of this game.

It is still so woefully feature incomplete that these high-end and fairly lacklustre additions (gameplay mechanics wise) just seem like pipedreams to me.

I'm sure you've done a lot of thinking this out and I am not the developer or have any sway in the game but my opinion here is that I don't like it or think it would add anything to the game. I'll rephrase what i understand from your post.
A more expensive dude who takes longer to make and is unable to heal, learn or contribute in any way that a human cannot. Cannot repair itself. Requires an 'oil' upkeep that may as well be very similar to human food/water upkeeps that have been hinted at. Furthermore, a whole host of additional 3d art and animations are required before they can even appear in the most basic capacity in a game that is currently being developed by a single developer on a shoestring budget and is, as I said before, woefully far from being feature complete.

But as I said, I like the human focus in this game and perhaps it is just my bias getting in the way of a good idea here.
