I want the ability to create "outfits" or "Gear Sets" either by simply having a "lock" option on inventory slots or having outfits that can be created and stored (even just a "snap shot of the current inventory layout" would be much appreciated), then attached to squad members. Because inventory maintenance can get pretty tedious across 20 or so recruits. Here's what I'm talking about:

Set up a gear set/profile, then assign it and the character will go and try to complete the set/stow anything not in the set. What this will mean is things like:

Assign a set of armor, a backpack, weapons, bolts, med kit, repair kit, etc. then the character will look through collected stashes (like armor/weapon cabinets, medicrates, boltboxes, etc. and try to fully match the gear set's contents. And discard everything currently in its possession that's not part of the gear set (and that has a storage) into storage around the base he's at.

This would be done as part of the "discard supplies" job cycle (or better yet would have it's own job entry, call it "restock" or something and put a "restock" button next to the "gear set" drop-down/button on the inventory screen, with the usual shift-click makes a permanent job entry option...

This would mean, for instance, that people would automatically re-arm their bolt supply, get replacement med kits when they run out, etc.

Also, you could have an "upgrade highest quality" option (or it could be automatic)

Oh - and FOOD, blessed "keep this much food on you" option so you don't forget and end up starving half way through an expedition because you simply forgot to restock after the last one... GRRRRRR....... (just hit the "restock" button when you get to base and everything you found gets stashed and your squad gets restocked for the next run automatically....)

Potential uses:
Your smith makes a higher quality version of an armor your guy's wearing? Auto swap upgrades! Ahh, SOOO many hours saved weeding through tons of armor piece by piece, character by character, to see if anything's an improvement...

No more running out of bolts (at least not unintentionally/as a result of not pausing for hours on end and cycling through every squad member. ANYTHING that reduces tedium is a win in my opinion...)

You could give a character a stack of building materials, and they'll always have a small stock on them, and discard their extras automatically. Etc. etc. etc....

I like your idea.

I would love to have the ability to switch between sets as well, like save 1 or two sets, one for ranged, one for melee, maybe one for training?
