Hi all,
Noe, it is clear that general attack speed is depending on Dex for cutting damage weapons or light ones, and str for "heavies"
So my question is particular about weapons like the the staff.
It deals blunt damage, and some minor cut, but does str or dex determine the speed of the attack?
And same for the jitte. The heavy version clearly goes with str. But the light one?
Did anyone up to now make a complete list on which weapon uses which stat for attack / dam?
Also:
Martial arts
As much as i love the current state of it, it is a bit OP in my humble opinion.
I have a game with "fighting monks" all scorchlander not using any weapons.
But i have set a method of "water hauling" - the new acolytes must load a backpack full of iron, and carry a comrade while then filling a water tank for the grog production fields of "the green valley" our camp near blister hill.
We have bases in the fog islands and close to the shrieking forest also, but more to this later
Let me know if you want to hear an action report about "The scorched fist" monks.
But now to my issue:
Setup out of rp reasons i quickly noticed i train str on the chars like crazily quick with this method.
A monk with str 70 ( reached after 10 to 15 game days when lucky )
A decent toughness - coming naturally when fighting unarmed.
And a skill of 40 in martial arts deals damage that he sends limbs flying in all directions dealing up to 120 damage or more.
Is that a bit much or did i just train long enough? Its day 300 now in the game and it really takes ages to build martial arts.
Looking forward to the replies on the questions and if anyone has interest in the report.
I kind of kept a diary with notes for the story and if theres interest i try forging a story out of it.
All the best
