So I was exploring Stobe's Gamble and went to the crumbling labs where the King Gorillo lives. I ended up loading a slightly earlier save for whatever reason but found that the building the Gorillo lives in had risen up as pictured

If I use the shift+F12 menu I can lower the building to find the Gorillo kind of down below in the acid... Lowering the building manually doesn't work as the Gorillo stays where it is and that also leaves a bunch of floating bone piles. All the items around are also in their default positions, as in where they were before the building rose up.

Here you can see the Gorillo and all the items as well as the bone piles.

Oh, I loaded an even earlier autosave from before I had first approached the cell and it loaded correctly. The save in question that ended up with it too high vertically was pretty much as my squad was just on the coast nearby.

There seems to be a bug with some structures where they reset to Y=100 whenever they get below that number or thereabout whenever it is loaded, de-loaded and loaded again. For example, a Large Swamp Platform (the square gigantic, largest one with massive support pillars and long staircase, can't remember the name right now), will reset to Y=100 no matter how you place it, and the mesh always stays at least at Y=100 (that is you can place the structure in editor below that number, but your character will always "walk" on air as it was still the original placement). Putting it above that number the structure stays floating.

Ah, I kind of understand now. After that last load I'm pretty sure switching to my base and then back to the labs caused it to rise again. I also encountered another bug involving de-loading and then loading again which I think I'll make another report for.
