i mean i don't wanna edit gamedata.base, but it seems the changes saved to mod didn't take effect after i restart the game?
is it becasue "automatic building replacements is turned on"?
let's say i only wanna change the bar layout of L-house,if i make a new interior named "bar2", and change the barman squad's interior to the new name, but that will make him to looking "bar2" interior for other type of houses too, right?
any workaround or do i have to make same name interiors for all type of houses?
is it possible to edit an existing interior layout and save to mod ?
It should work. Make sure your mod is selected before you press save in the interior editor panel as the interiors file is saved at that point rather than the save mod button.
hey, thanks for reply!
I had tested, it only take effect till I restart the game,I can see the file "interiors.level" is generated in mod folder,I'm sure the layout is saved(it works on new game if i don't reopen the program),but it seems after restart the game reads from base file instead from mod.
does it have something to do with the warning "automatic building replacements are active you may lose data editing existing interiors in this town"?

The automatic building replacement system does minor things such as swapping electric torches for torch posts in holy nation towns. The warning is there warning is there to mention some objects may have been swapped if you edit the interior at that location.
If you are seeing the interiors file then it should be working. Can you load your modified interior in the layout editor after restarting?

sadly no, say I edit a bar layout (only remove a lamp), save as the original name "Bar" and a new name "newBar" in the same mod, after I reopen the game, "newBar" keeping the changes, somehow the "Bar" gets to restore to vanilla layout.
no other mods enable during the test
Turns out it was a bug with the interior editor causing furniture deleted by a mod to not be saved. Adding or moving items works correctly. Unfortunately the fix missed today's update.
Looking forward to next update, thank you for making a such great game for us!
a few other things/suggestions:
1. the wind generators at Last Stand belong to no faction, so Last Stand has no power at night, is this an intentional setting or a bug?
2. the bodyguard behavior:
I don't remember how many times my bodyguards run off to attack something to get themselves killed before we reach the destination(beak thing, wolf, blood spider...they are neither in the way nor attacking me,sometimes we can easily outrun them), even few of my bodyguards made to the destination, then probably with heavily injuries, pretty useless for my next assaulting. If I help them, I may end up with injuries too, it feels more like I bodyguard them...
I wish they never initiate a fight when my character is set to passive, they only be aggressive when my character made contact with enemy or they got hit.
another time I hired some mercs to attack stone rat, we were at 30m away from the gate, I start shooting at the gate guards and the gate guards start running towards me, but my bodyguards run pass the gate guards to attack swamp raptors far away, I mean wtf!@#!$@#%
I think maybe it's a priority thing, bodyguards should target the same faction I'm attacking as first priority.
3. under attack characters never get up when sleeping, but npcs do. and sleeping squad members only wake up to help awake teammates, so my guys always get killed in sleepbag when I was afk for something.
4. the day/night transition(around 5:10,23:10) music(some tracks) are way too loud compared to other music, many times I have to jump up to turn down speakers, especially playing at night, it would be nice they get balanced if it's not too much trouble.
