Crash with Parallels

Hi
I am trying to run Kenshi on my M1 Mac with Parallels VM. Unfortunately, I do not have Intel PC, so it's not a solution.

Maybe you could suggest what it the problem with launch? I am able to run the game, but it crashes after @new game@ start.

we do not have tech support for non windows systems.

It's Windows 11.

Could you check logs, please? What could be the main problem there.

I think other VM users could be interested as well.

Nothing really of note in the logs, they didn't record the error so they're not particularly helpful. And the dmp itself only recorded a standard access violation error (0xc0000005), which just means it couldn't read the files it tried to read, but doesn't record what it tried to read or why it failed.

And since it's not a native windows machine, any issue could also be tied to the VM instead, something slightly wrong with how it's set up that Kenshi can't work with.

Best guess if it is on Kenshi's end, it's an issue with the navmesh files or the overlay map files, as those are the two processes it was about to attempt in the logs when it crashed. So you could try a clean reinstall of the game (uninstall, manually delete any remaining files, reinstall). But if that doesn't work there's not much we can do to help.

of the two active moderators here, Shidan is the only one who checks the logs people upload, he does have some knowledge of what they say. i dont. we are also not Developers.

best option is to install Windows onto a partition to make it into a windows machine. the window's emulator can and does cause issues running windows games and application's. this is why we do not support mac or Linux users who run Kenshi on emulators. as they can and often are the reasons for the issues.

the only way to see if your issue is authentic is to install it onto a window's only machine.
everything else we can suggest is normal things we tell everyone else based on what Shidan can see in the logs.
