Crashing when I'm about to talk to Scrap Mercenary

I visited Stack in order to find the Scrap Mercenary but when I try talk to him the game suddenly crashes.

This appears to be the Distant Towns crash, which comes from an incompatibility with Radeon cards. Try disabling it in the options menu.
