Hey, just made this account just to ask some questions on the forum. I recently bought the game, and am having loads of fun with it, I played for a good 12 hours or so and I was progressing very well.
I was on my way to another city to look for some new equipment when I got distracted and just left my guy standing in the middle of the desert. I had quicksaved before I left, so I thought everything would be just fine. Then when I came back, my sorry swordsman was on the ground. Everything was fine really, his blood had already regenerated back to 75, and the only thing that was negative was his head, at -5. I left him there hoping he would wake up from this, but sadly his injuries won't heal. I was trying to play this as a lone soldier, so I had nobody to patch me up. Sadly, after all that, my first thought was, "Oh, I'll just quicksave this, find a mod to bring myself back, and everything will be OK." turns out there aren't any real guides showing how to edit a current player's stats (that I could find), or anything on how to add a new person to my faction to save me. And by doing this, I had royally screwed myself.
So my question is, is there any way I can save my swordsman? What I would love to know is if I can send in a medic character into my faction and save him, or if I can edit his stats to get him awake.

It doesn't actually say that he's dead. He just lies there. I think you only die if your blood reaches a certain point in the negative numbers, which hasn't happened in my case.Daiyuki wrote:Check his Encumbrance/Combat status. It's entirely possible to have vitals seeming ok with a character who is dead. Somewhere in that info it should say DEAD if that's the case =p

Alright, I've solved the problem, I just created a new character and edited the stats of the new character in the Construction Set. I have no clue how to get rid of a topic, so I guess I'll just type what I did in case any other people have this problem and don't want to lose most of their progress.
I went into the construction set, opened up basegame.data, went into characters, hit the little + sign, went into stats, went into new character stats, and I changed the stats to what I had before I fainted. I saved, exited, and went back into the game, started a new game, all my stats were back, and I was missing my gear. I decided to leave it as it was as a sort of setback for getting stuck in limbo.

oh if your chest, stomach or head go into the crippled range (0 to -100) you are knocked out (or blood)
if they get into the severed range (lower than -100) you die
limbs, all the ones not mentioned, however, can go into the crippled range without you being incapacitated, although you will be hindered in fighting and working without a stint on the limb.
if your limbs go into the severed range, they are severed and must be replaced with a prosthetic (not yet implemented to my knowledge)
i know this was late XD
as for an in game solution, should this happen again....
just watch your health, always carry medkits. remember that yellow is the healing damage, black is the stun damage (and will re-heal naturally) and red is damage that needs to be attended by use of a medkit
you MUST have your 4 core hp's (blood, head, chest, Stomach) above 0 to get back up
other than that - safety in numbers, i understand if you wanna go alone but that's a risk you take
