I leave for like 12 in-game hours from my base to manage my traveling squad and I suddenly find an envoy trying to talk to me? Can we please get that notification thing if somebody is trying to talk to me in my base? That way, I could prevent my base from getting looted and sacked. Or stuff.

I have the same thing happen to me with my raiding squad. I completely agree with this.

At least pause the game and zoom the camera to the critical location.

What about a "mail" system? It could just be a little button in the corner with a graphic of an opened envelope, and it will flash whenever there is something new happening somewhere in the world (think of any MMO mail system's notifier)

The game show a little window saying "(your base) have been noticed by (faction)" or something like that at the mid-bottom of your screen (just above your characters portrait), in my case by Dust Bandits, he wanted 2000 cat/month....now his squad are part of the dessert and he is in one of my cages for my amusement (punch his face and guts) :D

Haven't seen this yet, but I will keep an eye out for it.
Then again, I haven't exactly seen much activity at all (based in the middle of Eyesocket, Police HQ, and Black scratch)

I have yet to make a base and get a visit, but this needs a sort of alert, for some reason i think would be funny to be able to place by your gates, or the place you consider the entrance of your base a sort of bell or something that would make noise to alert you of it and also give the "entry point" of the village or the main entrance, to avoid the npcs waiting at the walls instead of gates or in places you unlikely to look.

What if you could research an early warning system, that will let you build a bell, and you could have a guard, or watchman, "work" at this bell, and whenever he spots some type of danger (we'll give him some random value to be his "spotting distance" that can be affected by skills and/or attributes), then the notification will appear.

Would be part of perception i guess, but sounds good to me, people could prepare to the incoming depending on the dnager lvl, RED, all to defense, orange, just the "guards" or others.
