I have not checked the behaviour with 1-4, as I was running around killing stuff while reseaching in the background.

Built my lovely, shiney, Stone Processor V, assigned a minion to the recurring job... and he does not load stones when it is empty. Will happily carry completed building materials to the materials container. I was expecting him to handle both the loading and unloading from either the stone container or the stone mine. He does neither.

Tried assigning him the Stone Containter job, does not load the Stone Processor. Happily unloads the Stone Mine. Was expecting him to do all he recurring tasks for the stone container upstream and downstream when I assigned this task.

Tried assigning him the Stone Mine job... he fills up the Stone Container... which I guess is functioning as intended.

I do not recall this behaviour in previous builds, but it has been a long time since I played (pre-cannibals).

This might have to do with the new stone containers. Was the stone mine sitting full while he was waiting? Did you try assigning him to the stone processor as primary, and the stone mine as secondary (so he works at the mine whenever he can't do anything more on the processor)? Will he fill the processor if you manually place stones in HIS inventory?

stone processor's stone hopper empty or not full made no difference.

stone mine full or with some stones in it made no difference.

stone container empty or with stones in it made no difference.

shift clikcing the stone mine only unloads the stone mine to the stone container.

shift clicking stone container only unloads the stone mine.

shift clicking the stone processor only unloads the stone processor.

tried multiple minions with 'traders backpacks large' and without.

tried putting the stone processor task as the only task on the person.

tried putting stone processor task as the top task with stone container, with stone mine, and with stone container and mine.

in every scenario, the stone container gobbles up stones and refuses to send them to the stone processor.

could be a priority problem of the stone container is higher than the stone processor.

could be a bug with the stone container/automated stone processor jobs.

got fancy and tried right clicking (no shift click) on an empty stone processor to see what would happen. the answer is nothing.

the only way to load an automated stone processor at the moment in 0.68.1 is to open an inventory. shift stones to the inventory from the mine or container. shift stones out of inventory into the stone processor.

i have only built the stone processor V. all testing done on the stone processor V. I have not tried with any other stone processors to see if it is all stone processors or just the stone processor V.

Dismantling the stone container helps... ish.

stone processor V job will not carry stones from the stone mine to the processor.

stone mine job will carry stones to the processor.

so, the answer is:

there is a problem/bug/unimplemented functionality with the stone processor V job not loading stones into the stone processors' hopper.

AND a problem/big/unimplemented functionality with the stone container job not sending stones to the stone processor V.

additionally, if the minion has stones co-incidentally in his backpack when given the stone processor V job, he will offload them when picking up building materials. he will not go and pickup stones to put into the hopper. as part of the job

Reverting to non-beta version and trying to load the game causes insta crash. probably because i did not fully clean up beta buildings form my game before switching.

time to study for exams,

OK. built a steel refinery III

Same problem, but with ore.

Workers will not fill up the steel refinery unless-
+ you manually put an ore in their inventory and they're visiting to collect steel bars
+ you do not have an ore storage box and they're on the ore mine job.

epic fails all round.

I'm going to try removing all my containers and reloading in the stable build to see if the functionality is borked there as well.

works as expected in non-beta version. stone processor job loads stones from stone mine or stone container....

This is an obnoxious glitch and needs attention before the official release of .68, hopefully it's something relatively innocuous and can be quickly addressed. Thanks for the post and updates, the faster a bug can be resolved the fewer the members of the playerbase that will have to encounter it.

I also want to say I'm affected by this bug. I had it semi working, but my workers would run to the stone box and just stay there. I feel like it got broken further, because now they wont even run to the box. I shift right click adding the job and they just stand around and don't do anything. This applies to both the stone and ore processor.

I hope this is semi - priority, because without building material you kinda can't play :D

Not to belabor the point but it seems the new worker option of "auto haul" took away the logical operation of the respective machine. In the pre-.68 versions if you told a worker to "operate machine" they filled the input and emptied the output. With "auto haul" they seem to only look at the machine output and if left alone, the machine will run out of stone or ore and cease to function. For now you have to babysit the operation to keep it running.

The only work-around I found was to not have a storage box for stone so the "auto-haul" mine worker will put stone in the processor. If there is a box he will ignore the processor whether it is empty or not. The auto-haul worker on the processor only empties the building materials to that storage box. The "use machine" function in the non-beta version enabled the worker to fill and empty the machine and then use storage boxes when it was full so I hope they will re-enable that part of the code.

I seem to remember this being an issue back when storage boxes were indoors-only. For now, I'm considering a downgrade to the single-manned version until I know this has been fixed.

Last time I encountered this issue, it was savefile-specific.
If anyone encountering this issue could upload their Save folder to here and/or make a New Game to test if it occurs there as well, that would be fantastic. :D
