So there was a news post yesterday, listing a set of priorities and the basic order for new features for the next few months or so:
Weapon crafting and new research tiers (1 week)
Walls
New character + armour artwork, better character customisation.. Will replace everything, probably leaving all your characters naked after the update.
Armour + clothing crafting.
AI harassment, threats, raids and assaults on your base.
Females
Sound
Crossbows, ranged combat
New bigger world map, layout, and varied biomes.
Which of these do you want next? Personally, I would much rather have walls next than weapon crafting, but that's probably because my characters are low-level, :P.

Armour and clothing crafting, ideally accompanied by new research tiers, but that's really interchangeable with the weapon crafting and it makes sense for it to wait until after the new character and armor artwork comes out. That said, it's still my preference, even if I am generally happy with the order which Chris provided.

Additionally I think that more needs to come between Crossbows and the bigger worldmap like trade (which I feel should come around AI harassment as part of general AI functionality), but if he's doing it like this he definitely has reasons. It really all comes down to realizing that the game won't really be a full game for a while and not caring about the order things come in as long as they do eventually (and also steadily) come.

What does 4/05 mean?
I didn't find it quite hard to get my characters up to a level on which they can defend themselves against an equally large group of bandits. Unless some really big hordes come at me, which would mean at least 60 dust or 180 hungry bandits (biggest threat I ever faced was 3 squads of dust bandits which made a total of 18), I don't need those walls.

Well i would tag a few of em if i could.
My selection would be: Walls, ranged cb and AI harrassement
Not in that order more like on the same time.

Since crafting is kinda a background thing u dont have to watch it 24/24 same for research.
Well i expect u dont have to watch it 24/24
More reasearch and crafting would also mean u have more things to manufacture, and if u wanna make everything at the same time, 20 chars doesnt cut it atm ;). And crafting would only make me more rich so i would be allpowerfull before the game is actually finished.

Well thats my view on it atleast.

I voted for the larger map, landscape and biomes option.

In truth, it's because I haven't gotten that deep into the game yet, so the aesthetic is what's influencing me the most so far.

There's other reasons too: While there is nothing wrong with the desert, it feels too... empty to me. Different areas, with savannah, or grasslands would be awesome.

On the other hand, if I were to choose from the remaining options, I'd go for the crafting option.
I think that there needs to be two separate activities though, in crafting: the actual creation of an object and the recycling of objects.
I mean smelting swords down for their metal, disassembling clothes for their cloth, and so on.

There is another possibility though: I remember watching a Let's Play of a game called "Way of the Samurai". The game itself was... well, weird, but it had great sword fighting. One thing you could do was collect the swords of your opponents, and break them down into their component parts: The blade, the hilt, and the guard.

I think that would be a cool feature for Kenshi.

While new content would be very nice, If we're going to have nekkid characters after the art/character update I'd prefer that went first ;p.

possibly empty backpacks or completely new chars/settlement, chris didn't specify?

Unless if we get to keep our settlements in which case I'm all for new content. It'd be relatively easier to recraft your own weapons/armors if we get to keep our infrastructures.

I'm looking toward the walls for a reason other than them, it's going to bring a rework of the pathing systems, hopefully streamlining the whole thing. After that I'd like to have the new content, because...well...it's new content!

Give me smarter AI! The time has come for us to abandon our old ways of "luring bandits to large cities because they're too stupid to realize they'll die" tactics. No more should we rely on the nature of the AI to reward us; we should be rewarded only for playing smart and playing tough!

I do concede that this will make the game that much harder, especially for the lone wanderer and without the ability to construct our own walls at this point, but is that not what we were aiming for going into this game? I have lost two soldiers recently, yes, but that was because I was acting irrationally stupid on my part - I tried to fight a group of 8 Dust Bandits with 9 people, most of whom had half the stats of their enemies and one was far too weak to wield the heavy weapon efficiently. I'm feeling more and more complacent despite my temporary loss and I need a serious wake-up call from improved and truly threatening AI to really get me playing "smart" again!

Well i want more bandits as in like Always this crafting update is boring just research and crafting with very few other things to do, like i posted previously research and crafting is background stuff, Combat is active... Now i just use fast forward and do something else in the meanwhile for the research to finish.

I know gotta be patient but there's not all to much chalenge at this moment in the game.

The occasional bandits passing by, u can sadly slaughter them easely with 2 men

U still have to lure bandits to the guards hmm... poor you :D
