Games like Kenshi?
Don't get me wrong, I really enjoy the game so far but now that I can't play it
(http://www.lofigames.com/phpBB3/viewtop ... f=9&t=1492) until it gets fixed then I was hoping someone could make a suggestion on a game similar to Kenshi? The only one I have come up with is M&B, but that's not really like kenshi, though :/

Wow, that sucks.
The only thing similar would be other squad based games. but there is nothing exactly the same that comes to mind. Only things I can think of have guns as well like fallout or the tactics version.
EDIT: Evil genius is different but has a similar style in that you control a base with a bunch of dudes and you have a hero kinda guy that you directly control. Unfortunately, I'm out of idea's.

I think kenshi is one in a kind, this is some unique gaming stuff right here.

The cultures series.(I.e. Cultures II or Northland) Its kinda old and cartoony, but you can control and name every character.(Also brew beer and re-populate if that is what you are into).
The guild Series is another one! (Also allows the brewing of beer and re-population)
Evil genius (as listed above) is a good one (there is beer, but little re-population)
Clonks rage: Every character can be controlled (Plus I think there is beer)
-Cultures Series
-Guild Series
-Evil Genius
-Clonks Series

ah, but every character can be selected and named. Also the Npcs can be re-assigned jobs and they maintain their previous job xp.(Each character was almost like the main character) If I recall settlers only allowed the military units to be selected. In terms of AI, Cultures was horrible. Any female gamers would probably be pissed-of though. Basically the female villagers had only three uses Cooking, producing offspring and buying home goods. But atleast the game was published by the same publishers of the Gothic Series Jowood.(Now known as Nordic Games).

If you guys like mount and blade and role play, I suggest getting a mod for it called Persistent World 4. Set castles, all players and npc animals, kingdoms which you can rule ect. Peaceful until you say otherwise
There are Us, Aussie and Eruo servers. Very cool mod.
How the heck is this like M&B?Krowe wrote:I've actually been telling friends that its similar to the Mount & Blade series, but it really is a one of a kind game.

aim towards realistic combat in groups or by yourself in a persistent world full of traders/bandits/armies wandering about with their own goals wherein you can choose to fight bandits, become a bandit, trade equipment or nonequipable sundry goods, control your own settlement, join/fight armies, maybe even become your own faction in the world with no overarching main quest or goal beyond what you decide to do.................. now tell me which game did I just describe?skynet464 wrote: How the heck is this like M&B?

In our house rules for monopoly, you can burn down properties and even hire hit men. We might be the only family that plays monopoly with 20 sided dice.Blxz wrote:Must be some house rules I am unaware of.
Edit: Oh and try Warband. It is fantastic. The finished version of Kenshi will become more and more similar to some of the modded versions of Warband. It is more similar than you might think.

Kenshi still is a one of a kind though, and I'm sure it will only get better.

Aside from XCOM Apocalypse, and all the Xcom knock-offs like afterlight and extraterrestrials, a good unknown gem is Original War.
