Although I agree with you I must point out that this is a false argument. A state of being is not proof for something else existing. If anything, the reverse is also true. We would only float if something magical were to hold us up.

This also isn't being denied by 'creationists' (at least not the ones who actually try to use some science in their arguments). What is being denied is the relation to ourselves via an unbroken line of descent.


In the end the best way to debate evolution is to understand it very thoroughly in all its forms and nuances. Also, I'm not sure if you realise that Mr Old Man Liver is taking a very tongue in cheek approach to this 'debate'.

Tongue-in-cheek sort of means you're speaking correctly, because your tongue is within the boundary of your cheeks. Obviously the opposite of that would be "Tongue-out-of-cheek". Try sticking your tongue out, and saying "Life on earth is the result of evolution". It sounds ridiculous, doesn't it. Now put your tongue back in your mouth (back within the boundary of your cheeks) and say "Life on earth is the result of a creator".

After doing that, I hope you can see which argument is more intelligent.

Tongue in cheek is an idiom that refers to saying something in a joking or non-serious way. It is different to sarcasm because it tends to be humorous but not obviously so if you don't understand the subject matter or the speaker. Basically, old man liver is having fun by saying things that he obviously believes to be wrong just for the fun of debating.
