Sydious wrote:There is nothing wrong with the game engine, only your abilities to see just how far it can be taken. Sure, chris could move it to a different engine but what would that achieve. Do you know what engine its running on....? What would you suggest? An already established game engine that's been/being used by any number of games on the market.

How about instead of picking holes you just sit back and enjoy the damn game.
Besides, its still being made. Who knows what may or may not happen in the future.
You really should read the whole thread before you post. We have mentioned several times what engine is currently being used. How about instead of telling us what to do, you ignore threads that bug you, and just sit back and enjoy the damn game. :D

Now rather than be like most the little kids on here, I see no point to debating my comments or my reasons for making them.
Oh and just so your clear on something..... I didn't tell anyone what to do. If you read it propery you will see it is a SUGGESTION, not a demand.

If you're not prepared to debate like most the little kids on here (that seems like a derogatory way to refer to your fellow forum mates), then why exactly did you post this message trying to correct me? As for reading your statement PROPERLY, I fancy I did. See, all throughout school, college and the military they always stressed reading things carefully, and paying attention to details. And although I am obviously a little kid, I think I managed it. The manner in which you made your suggestion was antagonistic, and equates to the same thing as telling everyone what they should do/think. Why is it so hard for people to let others discuss whatever they like?

Engine is OGRE.

Now that the answer has been given let's stop this line of conversation right away. It is entirely personal and doesn't mention anything relevant to the thread and will very quickly devolve into a shitfight.

So let Old Man Liver get this straight. If we wanted to be more adult like you, then we should enter a topic, completely disregard what everyone else said, spew out our own uneducated opinion, and then refuse to discuss it on a forum designed for discussion?

Oh no.. what foolish children we have all been! Sydious, thank you for this enlightenment. Without you, these forums would have been doomed.

Been thinking for a bit how to respond, or even if I should. I agree. That probably sounds a bit off since I do argue a lot. However, I suspect most of the constructive points in the original topic have been made by both perspective. I do think however I would like to add one further thing, before I bow out of this conversation. As much as I think there could be a benefit to switching, if he did decide to I would hope he didn't start doing it too soon, as I am anxiously awaiting the crafting system being completed, more faction, and perhaps even new models. I have lurked on these forums for awhile before I joined the fray, this game has kept me hooked. And I don't honestly expect Chris to switch, and I am totally ok with that. It is a damn fine game.

Cheers Nakama!

now that's something we can agree on right there. "A damn fine game" Never a truer word spoken. And I wasn't trying to start an argument. Unfortunately I had spent the last 4 nights without sleep cos my lil girl was throwin her ring up. I apologise if anyone took what I said as insulting. wasn't the intention. I try not to go into these afer bugger all sleep. for obvious reasons.

I... umm... what? Surely you can't be surprised that it's built on OGRE, uSuck. I mean it's been said in a bunch of places. Also what's this about codexes and 'EMPRAH'? Is that your impression of "oh lawdy! please don't beat me, Massa (Master)!"? Or should I even ask about either of those?

Well, to put you all at ease, I don't mind the suggestion, but no I can't change the engine, it's not that simple, it would be more like making a new game entirely. And unfortunately you can't just convert C++ code to C# code, this isn't a few scattered functions and scripts we're talking about here, the code is epic.

Thank you chris, 1. for putting that idea to bed
And 2. for creating a -not yet complete- game that I have spent over 200hrs playing and modding to the point the missus smacks me upside the head.
YOU ..... ARE A FEKKIN LEGEND

I was just joking around, I knew that it was built on OGRE engine. And about the codexes of warhammer 40k... just read Matt Ward's codex about the ultramarines and you'll see why he sees them as this:

That was my point, no one needed to get upset about us having this conversation.
