Cheers for the feedback.

Something has changed somewhere in one of the updates, so i'll look into this.
Hopefully it's a quick fix, but i'll need to do some exploring to figure out what's changed.

HH :)

Thanks! It really is a very cool program.

And yeah I can believe already working/generated profiles are working. If I can hack in a working profile I will let you know.

Update time!

1.3.2 is a pretty major update! It fixes a ton of bugs, and handles things way way better (again..)
It is REALLY recommended that if you have used a previous version you should upgrade to this version.

I will, one day, try and start a change list, but i never remember..

However, it doesn't fix the new profile bug, which i'm still waiting to hear back from chris about. The manager will tell you how to get around this problem :)

HH! :D

This'll just become a massive changelog.
1.3.6 fixes an issue with new profile
UI changes
there was something else but i still forget to write down what changed..
auto-updater should kick into play, any problems (version loops, random message boxes) let me know

THERE'S NO NEW DOWNLOAD! The auto-updater built in should kick into play for everyone with the latest version, and give you the latest files. If its your first time with KMM, download the setup file from the first post and install, and then you'll get the message to update.

Another update...
Hey guys.

1.3.4 is now released. It fixes like.. a single bug. But mostly it includes the beginning of the code needed for what i'm doing for 1.4. It also now checks the to see if you have the latest version if you're connected to the internet.

So really, it's just a test to see how much bandwidth i use with people checking their versions, and seeing if i have enough..

And i've tidied up the source code, if anyone is interested in taking a look? I'm a big fan of open source stuff, but i dunno if it would be pointless for me to comment everything if no one wants to see it :P

HH :D
Version 1.3.5 -
Updated code for automatic updates, again this is BETA so be warned.
Added kenshi version to title bar
Yeah i have no idea what else i did or why it took me so long..

But hey ho here it is :D

this is the last version ill be posting on here. The plan at the moment is to have 3 seperate tools (interlinked) and have a single installed for all 3, that lets you choose which programs you want/don't want.

In the future ill be uploading some sort of updater/downloader program i've made, which means i only need to update that program when i release a new tool.

As it is, i plan to split the mod manager and save manager (I have a feeling people use the save manager more, so i'll upgrade it soon.
I will also at some point release a mod packager, when i can sit down and make it. Theres a billion if statements, and i'm deathly scared of arrays, so it takes time.
I plan to have the uploader complete sometime next weekish, but i wont release that until the packager is finished.
Then ill work on the save manager.

I hope that makes sense..
HH :)

1.4.0 Released!

Much faster than i thought it would be, but still no packager. That'll be for 1.5 i suppose.
Anyway, feature list:

Export/Import profile safety fix (Anyone know the legallity of exporting mods?)
Save files now stored zipped up! Should speed everything up. Also, in my case, stored profiles went 45mb to just 5mb ;)
Settings for turning on/off monitoring (timing, backgrounding)
No more settings file! Now stored in the program
Same with the short lived time file
Fixed a rename bug when renaming current profile
You can now double click a mod to delete it!
If a profile is loaded and the mod is no longer present, the mod is removed from your profile
Fixed two bugs with profile deleting:
1) Deleting and loading another profile storing backed up files in the wrong place.
2) Deleting and creating a new profile backing up files to nowhere and generally not working.
Finally, there is now a fairly basic debugger. It's not obvious to find, but it's not hard either. Only really needed for me and anyone having problems.

I kept a list this time :P

Love it! Now on moddb/indiedb/desura ;)
In a 48 hour period i've had over 100 downloads! :D

Help please!

I downloaded this and every time I open it it asks to update, so I will press update and it will open the update loading thing where the bar will fill all the way... but then nothing will happen it just glitches at that point

like this:
http://imgur.com/5t2vl7F

and it will just be stuck there...

Also it is downloaded in C:\Program Files (x86)\Desura\Common\Kenshi\data if that has anything to do with it.

Hey,
Is there a message box that pops up when the download bar fills up that says the download is complete?

Otherwise, go to your data folder, then to the KMM folder, and there should be a folder called temp_download.

Depending at which point it's glitching, there'll either be

a) a zip folder, which you need to unzip, then run the setup file

or

b) a folder called downloaded file, with the setup file inside there already.

Just run the setup file and it should install the latest :)

If not, let me know and we'll try some more stuff :)

Alright, I think I figured it out...

there wasn't a KMM folder... so I ended up reinstalling it in the default location and running it to get the folder, then I moved it to the desura location and ran it again. The update worked now...

It's something to do with it being in program files and windows UAC.
Windows was blocking it from auto starting the setup file :(

Yeah it seems that way, I am not sure if it worked or not but after the update it tried to change the save format or whatever... hopefully it worked with that.

Assuming the first time you used it was today, then yeah you won't have any problems :)

EDIT:
Version 1.4.2 released. See the changelog in KMM for info about the small changes.

Version 1.4.1 Released!
Actually loads of content added for once!
1) PULSE.
You'll notice the new bar down the bottom. I'm not sure if i'll keep it as permanent yet, just it's really handy to see what's going on in the program. It should tell you about most things it does, i've just got to add them in the more i go back through the code. It's also translatable so if you know french and want a french version...

2) Downloading through buttons.
(Hopefully) Buttons will start appearing on mods through which users of KMM can click to download the mod straight to their data folder, and activate it automatically (or not - your choice!) There is also a URL generator for Mod Developers included, under the "Tools" menu. Follow the instructions and you'll get a button you can place on your thread!

3) New about form with credits

4) New crash system! This will automatically gather all your debug data and PULSE data and put it into one file so you can email it to me!

5) On the subject of emails, i now have an email address! You can find it under the "About" section of the app. Please use it to send feedback, crash reports etc.

6) I've also increased the debug options

7) A couple of safety checks to stop stuff messing up, and single instance application stuff, which basically means you can click download buttons while the programs still running.

8) I'm not sure if this was a bug or not (probably was) but for those people using Desura, or another application which moves the default install location, you should be able start the game from clicking the start button on KMM. In the past few versions i'm not sure if that worked or not.

9) A trivial one, but all forms are now the same colour, as in - all the forms are now white.

This update added like a third onto the amount of code behind KMM, so for a minor revision, it's hell of a lot of code. Also, making website buttons work was an absolute b*tch. I mean, it took me two weeks to figure it out. Grr.

A heads up, you'll need to run as admin the first time you launch KMM with this update. There are some registry settings to add :)

As always, please feedback, it really does help! Especially through my shiny new email address :D

(I know the download a mod form is hideous - i'm no graphics designer, im way more about functionality than graphics, but it will look much prettier soon :) )

This program, put simply, is a must for anyone who plays kenshi. With or without mods. The profile manager enables you to have multiple games saved. Always a plus.

Well balls. Now the game is out on steam, i have a nice host of logistical problems. I don't yet have a steam key, and can't really buy one just to test, so this may take a week or two before i can confirm this works with steam. I mean, it should. But, you know..

Assuming the file layout is the same, then there technically shouldnt be a problem, except it's in program files, and that means UAC will block most of the save manager.

I'll post this in KMM as well.

Zaldir wrote:Maybe one day you won't have to rip off the Nexus Mod Manager - maybe one day we will have a Kenshi Nexus... I'll definitely talk to Dark0ne about it, as this game is really awesome, and the modding capabilities are great! So, if I can get him to test it out, he may be willing to open a Nexus for it once the game is "done".

If that fails, I'll simply ask him if I can write an article about Kenshi and post it in the announcements section. Maybe it will draw some more people to Kenshi and even some paying ones too. :D
And maybe a short interview with Chris as well, if he is interested... You know what, I'll get right onto that (I'm a staff at Nexus by the way^^)!
I get the feeling that the moment Kenshi is introduced to the Nexus it would immediately be crammed full of mostly naked women with 'armour' so tiny it's more of a necklace worn round the waist. Not saying there wouldn't be cool new mods filled with content but when given the freedom that's what the nexus community seems to do the most.
