Where do you prefer to build?

I pick a faction that I am going to go to war with, and then I build somewhere between one of their settlements and some allied settlements I can trade the loot I get off of raiding them. I've put outposts in a number of locations, my next faction will likely decide to try to take Capital and Clownsteady out in a war against the Dead Cats. I'll probably base myself west by northwest from Brink.

As I am without walls for the moment, with my back to a steep crag. [ at least with this setup, bandits and ninja can only hit me from three directions instead of four]. And once Chris gets the walls thing set, the crags will provide one section themselves.

I like building on interesting terrain, wherever that happens to be. Not very drawn to flat areas. However, any slightly raised areas or places with large mountains providing a natural wall (or walls depending on the location) usually provide my ideal locations.
