As you can see, I only have num keys 1 - 0. That's a total of 10 keys used to quick select your squad. But because the squad exceeds the number ten, it will be now hard to quick select your squad. I basically prefer quick selection over mouse selection, since it's faster to react quicker in combat. As we get closer to beta, should we just prefer ten people per squad to make it easier with quick select?
Yeah i get where ur coming from not enough keys to manage the squad proper atm.
Haha would be nice to connect ur brain with the computer so we can skip our physical medium to interact.
Sidenote: U can Always pause the game
, might be a little less thrilling but its more efficient with the ingame time.

I think the inconvenience is truly minimal and I think the automation that we can expect in the game will alleviate a lot of these difficulties.

I believe that, in the future, the 1-0 keys will be better used for binding specific squads to keys, as soon as we have the ability to control additional squads. Micromanaging your characters in combat doesn't always work terribly well currently, and they're fairly good about being efficient as far as that goes. I certainly haven't experienced any real benefit from trying to micro which targets they focus on personally, although YMMV.
For those people that do want to micromanage, wouldn't it be possible to make shift+1-0 or alt+1-0 select different troops, too? With control, shift, alt, and just 1-0, that's forty troops/squads.
Or maybe a squad size of ten being selected with 1-0, and then using shift+1-0, you can select different ten man squads? That would bump it up to 100 troops, and then if huge scale battles are implemented, you can have control+1-0 select brigades 100, bumping it up to 1000 selectable troops.

I've encountered significant success from micro managing my units. In my first playthrough I had a team staying at my base and a single character running around roaming for kills and loot. And as good as that single character was, he was susceptible to dying against large group of enemies since they could just swarm him with attacks from multiple side.Clawdius Talonious wrote:I believe that, in the future, the 1-0 keys will be better used for binding specific squads to keys, as soon as we have the ability to control additional squads. However if i just ran back, turned around and hit once, then started running right away again I would land a hit and be out of range for any counter attack. I would repeat that however long it was necessary and would invariably come out on top.
Double that, actually. =)dovecoon wrote:For those people that do want to micromanage, wouldn't it be possible to make shift+1-0 or alt+1-0 select different troops, too? With control, shift, alt, and just 1-0, that's forty troops/squads.
Naked+1-0 = 10
Shift+1-0 = 10
Alt+1-0 = 10
Ctrl+1-0 = 10
Shift+Alt+1-0 = 10
Ctrl+Shift+1-0 = 10
Ctrl+Alt+1-0 = 10
Ctrl+Alt+Shift+1-0 = 10
That's called playing Kenshi like you're not a noob that's 10 minutes into it.Edril wrote: I've encountered significant success from micro managing my units. No one's going to get by without constantly going into this dreaded realm of micromanagement that so many ignorant, lazy buffoons want to stay away from in so many games.
Maybe because it's known as a bad business management approach in real life?
