I was tempted by the dark side and added a few thousand extra Cats, just so I could afford a sword I've been wanting and a hooker.

I had the same issue and went into -5700.

In my case it seems to be related to equipping items taken from an unconscious police guy. The game literally seems to have charged me for the items I put on.

There was a previous instance where around 2000 were deducted from my credit and I am not sure why that happened, I just know that one moment I had 9000 and suddenly noticed I had 7000. This happened shortly before the incident with the policeman.

I was at -8k and brought back 2 bounties one for about 26xx and the other lilke 6k reward, it seemed to clear up my negative dollar amounts

Somehow I ended up getting a negative amount of money and now when i sell items I get no money in return. So essentialy I can no longer buy goods and can't sell goods to get back into the positive, which would fix my problem. Is there anyway to fix this?

Install that mod, talk to a police chief, should fix you up. There will be an official fix soon I am sure, but in the meantime that mod will work.

i could fix it ingame without installing and searching for stuffs.

first i killed a ninja jonin and put him in jail, got 2,5k and had less owe then i did it with bandits and other ninja jonin until i had + again. now i can play
