I got the idea from 'PC-Gamer"s Reloaded page.
So, I am installing Mercenaries II (PC) in an attempt to play over LAN (via mod). The game was garbage for the PS2, but the first one was good. My main
The games can be as old as you want. From text-based Zork to Arma II. Any system.
Whats your replay?

Right now I have Fallout 1/2 and Fallout tactics, Arcanum, and Nethergate: Resurrection installed on my machine. I'm currently playing through Fallout Tactics and Arcanum, although I run a Fallout or Fallout 2 character around until I get combat armor and am a nearly unstoppable killing machine every year or two so I like to keep them handy.
I bought Nethergate when it was on sale on Steam thinking the interface wouldn't be so ancient, I could handle the dated graphics but the interface for it was just awful. I've always known about Spiderweb Software but it wasn't until I picked up Avernum: Escape From The Pit that I really enjoyed any of their games and I was curious if I had just never really given their other stuff much of a chance. I've also got Oddworld Abe's Odyssey and Abe's Exodus installed on my Steam account, I thought about deleting them once but I have more disc space wasted by demotivational posters so I figured the few megs wasn't worth it.
Speaking of oldschool platformer type games, I am gonna snap up that Another World 20th anniversary edition when it goes on sale mostly for the nostalgia, I remember playing Out of This World (what it was released as in the states) when it first came out, it was a tough but fun little game.

The "oldest" games i play right now afaik are:
age of empires 2 (and addon) (1999)
battle realms (2001)
simcity 4 from (2003)

You should always proofread carefully to make sure you didn't any words out.

Starcraft and Starcraft brood war (although when I tried them on my new Windows 8 it didn't work sadly... *sight* off back to Blockland (not a kid's game) and download the imperial guard add-on...)
Edit: attempted to download warcraft, dawn of war, dawn of war: winter assault, dawn of war: dark crusade and a bunch of other 40k-related games (space marine not included) and old games, and F***ING WINDOWS 8 IS TOO "ADVANCED"

I've been having a Pharaoh and Caesar 3 revival of late. And been getting much further into Emperor than I've ever done in the past (since it was a little after my time). But on top of that I'm in the middle of replaying UFO: Aftermath, Aftershock and Afterlight. I find them to be very good games despite the waves of criticism from all the "ERMEHGERD AnyTHing NoT X-COmmm isn't anYY goOOd" crowd.
To a lesser extent I've been playing some Aquanox, mech commander 1 and 2 and Dawn of War 1 expansions and Knights of the Old republic 1 and 2. Many of my favourite games are a little older. (someone already beat to Abe's odyssey and exodus).

Did Blxz just say ERMEHGERD!?Blxz said: ERMEHGERD AnyTHing NoT X-COmmm isn't anYY goOOd" crowd.
Besides MERCS 2 (in which I have not set up the LAN mod yet) I have Lucas Arts full throttle (with Scummvm er, Sucmmmvuumv....what ever the hell the emulator is called) on my computer, Empire Earth (LAN game that my brother and I still have going from a month ago) and X-com Armageddon.
Speaking of X-Com, does anyone know how to remove the aliens once they overtake a company?

Dunno, the only classic x-com game I've ever really played is terror from the deep, and that one's buggy as shit. Hell it wouldn't surprise me to find that there was supposed to be a method for removing a nation/alien alliance, but it's bugged so it doesn't work. But to my knowledge, no there's no way, it's supposed to be one of the ways you lose, that too many nations surrender.
Good old x-com tftd. My favorite bug had to be the one where every time you load the game, it automatically switches the game permanently to the hardest difficulty.

I play Homeworld form 1999, It is still the best Space RTS, and the game with the best storyline IMO.

The world is nothing but an illusion of the mind
That is the downside of a one child policy. far too many men and some huge expected shortage of future wives for the generation currently graduating universities in the near future. I would expect living in China to only become more gay in the future... good luck and keep fighting the good fight Mr Islesofurth.islesofurth wrote:star wars rebellion:

I am bringing this thread back from the dead, cause there is no point in making a new one.
With companies like Gog and steam offering old games updated for new systems, it gives people opportunity to replay their favorite past game or discover something old/new. Anyone currently replaying anything good?
Currently replaying:
-Might&Magic VI
-Planet Alcatraz

Orion is classic.
Also, I played MM VI in the 90s, but likewise I never actually finished it. Back then, I think I used to simply go town to town casting armageddon, lol.
Sidenote: Hey Sol lignum, can you recommend any good Russian games similar to Gothic II or jagged alliance?

I had a read through this thread. Sadly I haven't moved much in 3 years.Blxz wrote:I've been having a Pharaoh and Caesar 3 revival of late. I'm busy doing a youtube video for UFO: Afterlight, I'm playing Pharaoh, Caesar 3 and Emperor again in my free time. And smashed out some Dawn of War 1 last night.
I can't believe how set in a rut I am....
EDIT: Actually, I've been playing a lot of Geneforge lately. That is a damn good old game series. One of my favourites.

Can't recommend anything, them both aren't really my type, but I know about "7.62" and "Planet Alcatraz", games that are somewhat similar to JA \ Wasteland. They got some positive reviews on Steam. Can't say anything about Gothic-like titles, closest thing would probably be Witchertoaster Assassin wrote: (...)
