I want to hear everyone's best moments!
I think my favorite moment had to be when my heavy weapons guy finally started being able to get 1 hit KOs. The first guy to get hit by it was hit in the head. He did a flip. The second guy ended up with more than 400 damage on a leg, and 300 on an arm, plus a knockout blow to the stomach. He would have bled out, but I decided to bandage him up and carry him around untill he made a full recovery. It took days, but eventually he was healed enough to fight. So I set him down and had him spar my heavy weapon guy. The poor bandit didn't survive.

Well, mine is quite boring and long. I mean LONG.
Story short : Raped a Dead Cat town.
Longer one :
Story goes on from the moment I managed to gather up 16 members strong enough to take on a single journin in a fair battle. However, a shabby looking band is not very fearsome, so I decided to wipe out a Cat town on the northern part of map for a badass look for my mateys.
First, I ordered my men to keep a distance from the gate guards. Then I made the fastest runner in my group to attack the guards from a distance. (This, if done properly, will lure only the guards and not the shop guards.) Knocked them off and ripped them bare. Then I just unleashed my full force on the town. Every time my men took one of them down, I made sure I stripped their arms and armors so that they can't fight another round. Lost two of my men in the process though (really dead
, erased from my squad list), but I managed to ransack it after all.
Now my men are wearing chain shirts and white trousers though I do admit they look more silly than before

Oh great, I just had the most wonderful occurrence. So I'm getting my base set up and trying to gather the men and the resources to run it. I've got 7 guys at base and my main guy ran out to an outlying settlement to hire more. After hiring three more men I set them and my main guy to head back to base.
They're over halfway back when suddenly some random-ass ninja wanders into my base and picks a fight. It's just one guy, how bad can he mess them up? If the law of inverse ninja has anything to say about it, pretty bad. He took out two or three guys before they finally knocked him down. No big deal, I have fours guys on the way, we'll just patch them up and throw them in bed.
Well, immediately after that some of those awful neon-green sand bandits decide to show up. Crap. Ok, not to panic, my main guy's almost back and he's bringing at least two decent swordsmen with him. Then suddenly from an angle my camera wasn't watching ANOTHER group walks into base. Crap, crap crap. I then get a bad feeling, and with dread I mouse over to my four guys on their way back to base. To my horror an entire freaking CONGA LINE of sand bandits is following them to base.
It was a damn slaughter, but nobody died. Granted everyone had a negative value in something, and one guy just barely stopped bleeding at -73. Well, it took a while for the first guy to get up, and he wound up bandaging people as best as he could as more rose. I only had two beds because the base was still small, so I had them take turns, the worst using them to heal first. Before I could get everyone in order ANOTHER group of bandits came in and wiped them all out AGAIN while one of my guys was in town selling stuff.
I just said "screw it" at this point and had the half that got up drag the other half to the nearest town and just paid for beds. Good lord this game is so mean.

My best moment was when i came back to Kenshi yesterday. When i took a Kenshi break it was basically just some ninjas running around in the desert pwning (albeit i spent alot of hours doing that^^).
With all the tech'N all Kenshi is shaping up to be the epic game i have been reading about.
With all the tech'N all Kenshi is shaping up to be the epic game i have been reading about.
I have no country to fight for; my country is the earth; I am a citizen of the world.
I think this qualifies as my current best moment. It was so awesome I wrote an aar about it.
the ooc tldr: I wasn't paying attention, my main guy got knocked out while he was building a weapon bench. Then I got my 5 newbros to fight 2 dust bandit parties that showed up at the same time, and they somehow won by the time my main guy got out of the house.
The rise of the recruits.
It was just like any other day in the bandit filled dunes. My fellow recruits hard at work in the mines as usual, while I was topside processing the stone they collected into usable construction materials. It was made extra difficult because of our peculiar training regiment. Carrying around a backpack filled with water, and carrying a bandit over my shoulder. I'm not sure if he was just unconscious or if he finally bled out on my back. But the day progressed as usual, the daily bandit raid was fought off by our commander. Heh, my bloody back was the testament that they failed their attack, the commander single handedly cutting down all six of them. just like any other day.
Then it all changed. It was a sneak attack, the commander was caught unawares as he was setting up our new forge. The dust bandits snuck up on him and bashed his head in before he could reach for his sword. I heard the cry of the bandits as he lied on the ground, the bandits celebrating the fact that they had succeeded where all of their fallen brothers failed. Perhaps us dumping the rotting bandit and ninja corpses in the surrounding dunes was too much. A challenge to all bandit tribes that we are strong, slaughtering every single tribe and band that dares approach us.
After they had finished their rallying cry my fellow recruits had come out of the mine. I immediately took my place as first blade. I ordered the recruits to drop the bloody corpses and water filled bags we were carrying, and to draw their swords. I have never felt so powerful, or as scared as I did that moment. But I did as the commander would do, I gave the order to charge.
We ran straight at them, the bandits counter charging in kind. I yelled at Connor to distract the bandits while I snuck past. Kraken, Hydra, and Skinner follow him straight into the heart of the battle, no less than eleven bandits against four men. But they succeeded, I managed to push past and dispatch the one bandit the followed me. I grabbed the commander and carried him inside. After bandaging his head and placing him on the bed I left the house, locking the door on my way out. Then i joined my fellow recruits in battle, somehow they had managed to not only survive. But take down three bandits before I joined them. The fighting was fierce, we had killed at least half of the bandits before Kraken took a crippling blow to the stomach, and Skinner lost too much blood.
As we finished off the last of the dust bandits the commander opened the door and came outside. He just watched us as we cut our blades deep into the last standing bandit. With that grin on his face who knows, maybe he was just testing us, maybe he was never in any actual danger. Anyway, after we finished off the bandits he came over and bandaged us all, then he carried Kraken and Skinner to the second house so they could rest. We all got an abnormal break from training that day. We sat around the campfire bloody, bandaged, and missing a few teeth, but there is just something in the air now. All of us, we have all now been tested in battle, our very lives on the line between life and death. The commander told us, we had passed through the ultimate test. The test to prove we have what it takes, we have what it takes to not just survive, but to thrive in this land filled with misery and death.
Tomorrow brings a new day. A day of blood and steel, wind at our backs, sand on our feet. We are the Flames of Va'sal, and we will hold Myrmidon outpost against any foe. Honor in blood, to the death.
The words of flame, when I first heard them I thought they were ridiculous. Now, now I understand their meaning.

I hope my writing wasn't too awful, but I hope you enjoyed it as much as I liked writing it.

This was a while back so i don't remember it as well. Basically i finally got my main six fighters pretty strong and could take on the holy empire. started building a base, m 1 little shack that i locked myself in because some thirty plus raider bandits who were well armed and pretty tough showed up and stood outside demanding i come out and pay them. Well i waited a day knowing i would lose and hoping they would leave. They did not. Finally a passing imperial lord patrol attacked them. I exited the building to help, things went badly. My first character survived and i was about to run when a caravan showed up and helped me finish them. Lots of dead bodies and my was one of only a few who lived. Bandaged up my people and some caravan gaurds and went on my way.

This just happened recently as i was testing how ell i had trained my first guy Captain Brooker.
From out of the slow moving breeze, a light ripple of dust stirs the hot sands. Brooker looks up, seeing a wavy green far off. thinking to himself , Maybe there is water and shade there, i should check it out for future trips thru the area.
Stepping lightly across the shifting sands, Captain Brooker sets out to the horizon where he saw the green smudge. With each passing minute, Brooker gets closer to the trap that was laid out for him. for unbenounced to him. a band of Dust bandits was ahead of him. They had spotted him long ago whit his Bright white Armour, glinting off the harsh desert sun.
And they where making good time. unencumbered with heavy armour, they could easly outpace the weighted loner.
The leader of the Bandits smirks, thinking this will be easy prey. with his new group of cut throats by his side.
Brooker places his hand to his hat, lowering it to keep out the brightness of then sun. moving slowly forward.
The Dust bandits race forward, as iff they can sense the easy picking before them.
Brooker looks up. noticing the green smudge has become sharp and clear, now he knows what he faces. glenching his hand around the handles of his swords. unnoching them from there scabbards, reading himself for the comming battle. For he knows what he faces now. not the shde and possible watering hole, but a newer and more dangerouse threat that has been plauging the desert sicne when he was in the United Cities military.
He grins. spitting out the weed he has been chewing on. tensinfg up he starts forward at a commanding pace.
The Dust bandit leader pauses, noticing that this prey isnt running away, but towards them instead. he signals to his troup to move forward but takes a place a bit behind what he considers his cannon fodder. let them die first then i can come in when the target is weak and finsih him off, then ill get more of his money and clothes and that fancy armour.
Captain Brook rushes into the middle of the group. surprising them all with his brashness. before the bandits know what happened. 4 of the bandits begin howling in pain. The leader movies in, taking a quick swipe. hitting his target. but only the sound of a clunk, from the edge of his weapon sliding off the shiny armor.
Brook blocks the next round of attacks. dropping his guard to lash out his own. He knows this will not be a easy fight. noticing that some of the blades are getting thru his defenses. letting his guard drop at times directing where the damage will occur. Lashing out with the furry of his own swords.
In seconds the first bandit drops. bloods spilling across the sands.
The Blood fury has caught the bandits. they begin lashing out angrily after seeing one of there comrades go down. several manage to land heavy blows. rendering the prey's left arm unless and covered in blood.
Brook grunts in pain. but knows it is not life threatening if he can treat it in time. Using all his skill he fights back, pushing the bandits back with a furry they have never seen before. in seconds 3 more Bandits drop. then another with a blow to the neck. spraying the Captain with there blood.
The bandit Leader is the last one left. he now knows he is a dead man. severely injured and bleeding out from the many razor cuts from what he thought was his prey. He tries in vain to block the rush of the Armoured person. sinking back. unable to run now since that last hit, cut opened his leg to the bone. He fights on.
The Captain looks grime. seeing the last Bandit fighting back hard, but he can see it wont be for long now. Seeing the Bandit make a mistake, he lunges in. slicing the bandit leaders right arm clean off then deeply into his side.
Pulling the sword out of the Bandit leader, Brook looks down, muttering. , then begins to slowly walk away, bandaging his injuries, leaving the Bandits to bleed out in the hot sun. Not even bothing to pick thru their belongings.

I don't know about my best moments, but certainly one of my favorite moments in playing Kenshi came not long after I started the game when I ran into some bandits and tried to fight eight people with my sole wanderer. I quickly learned that was a terrible idea, and managed to run back to the nearby town of Brink where the guards saved me from my own stupidity and what would have certainly been a long nap in the sands at best.
I like everyone's stories so far, and I found I was kind of developing my characters as time went on, and since as of now my characters are named after some friends at school, it's fun seeing them do something cool, because I'll just be there thinking, "Oh that makes sense why he did it...my friend is a badass..."
So, I think my Kenshi story would happen like...
Okay, so Vincent and the group had just come out of Floppy's hotel, all healed. They really took a beating from those Sand Bandits, but they were ready to trek across the desert once again. So far, including Vincent we only had five members, and we picked up another at the bar before we headed out.
As we left, some guys were staring at the armor we were wearing, but it was only salvaged off of dead corpses we had killed or found. Mainly we had killed them, but gotten our asses split in return. Our guys got experienced by this, getting better even when they lost. (OOC, you apparently learn faster when you loose in a fight in Kenshi.) We had definitely gotten better, and were ready.
Leaving the city, our guys wandered around in looks for some trouble. Out of nowhere we were ambushed; about twenty loser-bandits were running wildly at the warriors, and they thought they were ready. We ran at them, but our numbers were so outmatched. We took down almost half of them, but we fell, bloodied and not so triumphant. Jin was the first unconscious, and realizing what had to be done, went to work on the rest of the crew. Later on in time, he became quite the medic, but now he was obviously new to it. He scrambled to fix his friends, working feverishly, until...everything got blurry. He fell on top of his crew mate, Jake, slipping back into unconsciousness.
It was a very cool moment, at least to me. My entire playthrough so far has been this, fighting and dying, to come back again! Slowly we got better, raising our attack skill to about 18 through 14, and we can take on a lot more guys. I picked up an engineer, and I'm just waiting to feel like starting a town.
thanks!

Let me introduce you to my two comrades, Jones and Stubbs.
Jones is a tall skinny African Ninja. As tall, and almost as skinny as possible. When he runs, in the time it takes him to make one step, any other ninja had already made at least 3.
Stubbs is a short, stalky redneck with bad posture and a beer gut.
I routinely send Jones on long distance runs with a light load so that he can build up his dexterity. Likewise, I like to send Stubbs walking from town to town with a heavy load on his back so he can build so strength.
Well one day, I went to check on my little town area I had started building in, only to find a legion of green ninjas swarming my group. My entire squad was there, getting massacred, except for Stubbs and his tall friend Jones.
After my whole squad was wiped out (except for the previously mentioned duo) I sent jones and Stubbs running full speed to aid their dying comrades. Jones was running like never before as I had dropped his backpack and he had just went up a level in athletics.
I sat in anticipation as I waited for the two to show up, praying to the god of Kenshi that they make it in time because I hadn't save the game for a very long time.
My plan was to get jones in there with a medkit and start stabilizing while Stubbs carried his fallen buddies to safety. After a while I saw Jones approaching in the distance, Stubbs wasn't too far off in the opposite direction either.
Then to my dismay I realized Stubbs had ran right into the very same group that slaughtered his allies and they were hot on his trail, a few of them still limping from the very minor beating my guys gave them. This put a pretty big damper in my plans.
Before I could react, I noticed Jones had attracted some unpleasant company too. The tall Dennis Rodman knockoff with a katana had about 30 starving bandits chasing him (probably because he looked so tasty).
I made a quick decision to bypass my land and have the duo cross paths and make a loop back around.
Jones and Stubbs high fives each other as they passed (okay maybe they didn't... But in my mind they should have) the two opposing armies crashed into each other and exploded into battle.
Jones and Stubbs had but 3 or 4 followers left as they ran to assist their friends. Jones went straight for my best fighter with his medkit and started patching him up as Stubbs held off the 4 bandits on full defense. Jones finished the healing process and was on to the next one. Before he finished healing the second one, the warrior was on his feet and back in the fight. Jones continued reviving his fallen comrades until they were all stabilized and pretty soon it was 4 on 4. (The other 3 were still pretty banged up).
They fought to the last man, but in the end, Jones stood victorious as he revived the rest of the crew for a second time.
The crew limped to the nearest town where a warm bed awaited them, with the taste of victory in their mouths.
Before they got to town, a group of caravan traders showed up and slaughtered them all.
Moral of the story: If you kill a caravan trader and take his stuff, his friends will hunt you down and kill you until you die.

-in memory of Stubbs.
I will update this post when i have more time.
Best moment in Kenshi was when i realized, that my Freedom Seekers, sick of city live and taxes found themselves workin 24/7 in an ore mine. One guy is locked in research room.

Been a while since I last saw this thread. I have a new favorite moment now. Go ahead and read through Cannibals Took Over My Base (now with more WTF?).
Tl/Dr: a weird bug gave me control of a crapton of cannibals, and I used them all to attack clownsteady.
