If any of you have played the early Fallout games, you'd remember whenever you die, there is this scene where it shows your vault dweller's bones lying in the wastes, and the narrator saying something negative or positive about your defeat.
I think in Kenshi it would be cool if, say your squad got completely wiped out, truly dead, it could flip to the scene, and then go back to the main menu where you could start a new game or you could load back up a previous save.
Also, if you did something amazing/horrible, like utterly destroy a town, or wiped out a giant bandit base,(etc.) it would go to that scene where your squad is just standing in the sand, bodies strewn around them, swords sticking up in the dirt, and the feeling of victory. Or your squad, like, walking away from a burning city with it's people and live stock lay slaughtered, crops burned. You get the point :)
Just an idea!

That would be interesting, but given all the different planned options on how to approach the game world, Chris and Co. would have to record a LOT of scenes to do that properly. Also, that would be a fair bit of voice acting, and the current opinion is that there will be no or little voice over work in the final game, though that very well may change:

Nothing is 100% confirmed, but at the moment we believe it's best to only feature vocal exertions (Grunts, Sighs, etc) & potentially single words or very short phrases. There isn't a plan for full dialogue at this moment, but I wouldn't say it's completely off the table. We'll get a better idea of the VO situation as we're testing in-game :)

Well i guess you could even do those stuff without any VA, simple scene and maybe a small music/rythem how you wish to call could say much for it, "a image is worth more tha na housand words" something like that, like a vanish to the sunset as your squad lays in a pool of blood by their broken swords with the right tune.

As for victories i guess would be large events "rewards" as there no "game end" r at least didn t saw yet any sign of winning conditions, still like the idea, especially for defeat, would fit as something to remember you, "you lost".

I think this would certainly help with the grueling start difficulty to some, It would make dying alot more interesting and not seem so bad when its a new ending.
It could also add in something to aim for despite it being a sandbox. Having that goal of victory could make you want to play it more. IMO sandbox games become to boring without some sort of goal.

But that s where your mind steps in, mae your own goal xD.
But with the goal you mean, character wise/faction wise, or even in the game, "Conquer all map for total victory"?

That reminds me my cousin now, he can t play sandboes for real because, he simply neds to have something to do, but when he plays a linear game he doens t care for the story or antyhing, just kill.

I think Isleso is right about making it a goal, and death would kind of not be so annoying, with perhaps some closure from the scene.
Here's an example for you guys from Fallout ---> http://www.artfulgamer.com/wp-content/u ... h_comp.jpg
I don't know how Chris would have this implemented, it might be hard.

regarding what i said with "goals" i think it would basically be the same as achievements.
but if there was a popup when you got it, that would add to how special getting them is. ofcourse you would need an option have them not popup and instead just be written in the chat or something.

this is how i picture that deaths could be entertaining and comical, while goals or "victories" would be even more rewarding and enjoyable.

Just roll some sad text up the screen about another soul lost to the wastes or whatever. I think it would be a cost effective feature. Even the same scene and text would serve a bit to take the edge off, no need to get too terribly fancy.

something simple would work fine yes but its when games devs put in that little bit of extra effort to make things above average that really makes the game great.

Kenshi has ALOT of potential so simple things should only be added when Chris is short on Skill, Time or Money,

i dont know bout you, but i dont want another game in my steam libary that im only gona play once or not even finish because its to boring or simple

Perhaps a glory/infamy scale. How much of either determines the ending. Perhaps if you retire like you can in mount and blade. Neutral/unknown could have you or your squad walking in the sunset as silhouettes. Infamous/bad could have you hanged or being executed. Glory/good could have you sitting in a bar with tin mugs drinking beer all festive like or maybe a statue of your squad. Picture of course, with a poem of sorts. Still retained it's awesome factor while not being all that difficult.
