Hey all,
As of patch 0.44 I tried making a shop in my town (I have a couple of Hemp in the shopping counter now) but the Merchants nearing my town just reach the edge of my village and then switch every two seconds between 'staying close' and 'shopping', all the while moving little more then a couple of feet to and from my village and never buying anything. I recall seeing this issue before on the forums but I couldn't find it anymore, is there a fix for this?
Edit: the merchants at the front loop between 'aimless', 'wandering trader' and 'shopping'.
Thanks.
0.44 Merchant Dance

I've started an entirely new game with new characters, it is set to public, both the village and the house, have thus far only got hemp to sell and used a small counter. Will update when I've tried more variations.Tolwrath wrote:Do you have your town set to public? Are you are using the large or small store counter? Were they built after or before the patch? Did you import your squad to a new game as suggested in the front page news?

Okay, so in my frustration i forgot that there was a Quicksave/Quickload function, tried that and now it works. First business cats are made.
MERCHANTS WORK
You need to left click on the front door of the shop building (where counter is) and set it on "public" (bottom left panel).
That way the merchants will slowly buy stuff from you!!
...but they still keep dancing around for some time till they by enough and leave... i think its related to the fact that merchants and bodyguards have to stick together and it gets in direct conflict when they try to enter building together (someone has to go first.. but gets too far from others)

They do work. I had waited for the second group of traders to arrive at my town. For some reason, the first group danced around and left.
Oh, and they dont seem to buy weapons though. Bread, rum, sure they'll buy those but not blades
