I started a new game last evening. I was looting gear from fallen bandits and equipped gear with attack/defense penalties. I upgraded and changed gear, without unequipping the old gear first. I even purchased the backpack with -5 combat stats on it to help carry stuff.

After about an hour of playing that way I realized my stats where horrible I unequipped everything with a - attack or - defense stat as well as any gear that had combat skills effect less than 1.

My combat and movement stats still looked terrible, so I dropped anything I didn't need restoring my "lightweight" status and stood there naked. With no gear on, I still had something like -13 Attack, -13 Defense and a run speed of 12.

I was so angry I abandoned that game and started fresh, paranoid of anything with a stat penalty. I'm sorry, had I known I would have captured a save game. :(

...Also sorry my first official post is a bug report.

thanks for the report then
=(^.^)=

if it happens again. tell us what you were doing and or did so that Chris can try and reproduce it and when possible zip up your quick save and upload it here. and any crash reports.

Also if you have play issues and or loading. Verify the integrity of your game via steam. we are seeing its correcting a few of the problems ( corrupt files ) after a crash happens.
Do you believe the sexes should be equal?

... and just for your own sanity, many, many things that glitch out are fixed by simply saving and exiting, then reloading. Sometimes stat displays don't update properly (or in a timely fashion) for example. I can't tell you if it's still calculating properly even though it's not displaying properly, that's why I usually reload.
Sorry that stressed you out, but it's probably not as bad as it appears. Y'know, for next time. ;)
